I have bought Mercedes cars since 1981 because it is that what I want.

When sold, they were as "out of the box" because non-Mercedes parts cannot give me the guarantee of quality. This applies not only to wheels but to oils, filters, brakes, body parts etc etc.

This is the way I run my cars and perhaps it has cost me a few foreign holidays as a result. My choice my decision.

So, lets say you've just bought a 10 year old clk for £2,000 & the original alloys have been previously refurbed & are past there best,do you get a new set of replicas for say £400 to smarten the car up or go to mb & order a new set for £1,200+?(i know what i'd do!)

I would rather have something thats real thats not as good than a fake of something posh, i.e a real Next jumper rather than a fake Ralph Lauren.

On the other hand i understand why people opt for reps as MB/AMG/Brabus and the likes are so expensive and it just seems wrong to put FOX wheels and the likes on a Mercedes or any other premium brand. Going against my normal rule i was tempted by replicas when i was looking for wheels for my current car but was put off by friends scare stories with replica wheels. However if i found a set that were as strong as OEM wheels i would more than likely buy them as ive spent quite a bit on a set of O.Z and BBS and have been disappointed with the finish.

I have 2 sets of fake AMG's and i think they are both fine. Im really not fussed about it. Yes we own Mercedes with £3000 and £4000 sets of wheels, but one a w202 c class that i paid £630 ive spent £800 on replicas

And i really dont care... although fair point im selling them only due to the fact im not the greatest fan of the style

Are the originals not copyright in some way? If they're indistinguishable, safe and lawful then I can't get greatly excited. They all end up badly kerbed in Central London anyway.
