Favourite wheels

That Volk is classy 👌
They were probably the best wheels I've ever owned. Fabulous machining and detail, strong yet ridiculously light; ~7.5kg for an 8.5x18.

Shame they're discontinued now, otherwise I'd be seriously considering another set.

Is it telling that I haven't seen anyone lusting after Carbon fibre wheels ?
I know of a few others who have them on their Daytona's, and apparently the already impressive cornering flick-ability is taken to a whole new level with the lightweight alloy wheels replaced by Carbon Fibre.
I couldn't use them myself, as my propensity for hurling my bike & myself at the scenery would inevitably destroy them very swiftly.

There are some cages that could perhaps loose a little weight, & without it appearing out of context ?????

I think my all time favourite wheels I’ve had was the Ronal 51’s on my old Vito

I still have them and really fancy popping them on my current van. BUT they’re 18’s and no commercial tyres available in that size. Just extra load that’s on them just now.

As a kid I loved this car and it’s wheels. Looks a bit ‘mah’ now mind. 🫣

Brings back some memories, I used to have one exact same colour and wheels. It had a Moss Alarm system and I thought it was cool at that time. Something like this, was popular for its time.

Yikes. What a blast from the past. I fitted a Moss to my first car in 1990. An 83 reg Black MG Metro.

Didn’t work very well as it got stolen from Deansgate in Manchester never to be Sean again. 😣

I should have opted for the Phoenix Nights Edition. ‘Get back ya Ba#%*rds, I’ll break ya legs!!!’

Apparently it was just 2 wires that needed cutting, all the thieves knew which wire to cut. Nevertheless it was still very popular, I can still remember the unique siren noise in the neighbourhoods and you knew that was a Moss Alarm 😀

My personal favourite is the Speedline 'pepper pot' that was fitted to the last of the Alfasuds.

They came in a mid-grey matt finish, which wasn't very hardwearing. The photo above is my unused spare, in the original finish. I had to have the rest refurbished, and although they managed to match the colour rather well they couldn't replicate the matt finish. That was a long time ago though - I guess I might stand a better chance if I had them done again now.

This is mine.
