How accurate is that figure, in the light of the TV documentary the other night that you are being 'swamped' with immigrants? I mean, we've got to have a fair chance of guessing the answer. Or does your figure excludes non-UK registered cars?

Mine is a single parking ticket about 4 years ago. Fair cop, overstayed a meter by about quarter of an hour and got caught

What is 15 minutes in the great scheme of things ?

Zero for me,,the 101mph one is over 12 months now and nothing, I never stop so no parking tickets

I have set my winter tyre setting to 100mph so I can't travel over the magic "instant ban" speed in a 70 zone (real speed 96 I would guess from my GPS if I ever went that fast but of course I haven't gone over 70 in this country)

£60.00 and 3 points, 62 in a 50 limit appraoching the new severn crossing toll gates:( What jacks the fines up is the people who continue to drive while banned, drink drivers, no tax, no MoT, bald tyres etc etc They usually get published in the local papers court cases.

I have Speedtronic to thank for my lack of fines - or maybe I'm lucky

I have to agree, the figure seems somewhat high. A detailed breakdown I think is in order. All I have paid is a £30 parking pentally.

The average UK driver probably has paid an SP30 (i.e exceeding the statutory speed limit) @ £60 and a couple of parking tickets (£120). This is probably over estimating it IMO. Thats £240/motorist, no where near over a grand/motorist. To get that we will have all had to have been done for drink driving and fined rather heftily within the realms of the law. How many UK motorists have experienced this, not that many.

I think you will find its the persistent parking offenders and the drink drivers who 'prop up' the average.

Drink driving can cost thousands in fines.

But to that extend . Drink driving fines can cost a lot, but how many are levelled in the £000's scale?

Too many folk been having a beer or ten then driving home.

Nothing in fines ever , nothing in 20+ years of driving and hundreds of thousands of miles covered . Its really not hard
