First effort with clay bar

Good one. And what did he say when you asked him why he bothered shaving/mowing lawn?

"Ah, that's different", then went on his way.

Now, like most who like to keep their car clean, I only have to deal with the "you'll make it rain", to which my smart***e stock reply is "Good, then I won't have to rinse it....."

Bet he didn't like being outsmarted. :D

I think one of the nice things about getting older is one cares less and less about the peculiarities of various opinions, and just get on with whatever one wants to. :thumb:

Reading the (hopefully) tongue in cheek comments about the car only getting dirty again, reminded me of a conversation I had with a Know it all neighbour. I was getting fed up of his regular comment along similar lines when I was cleaning the car.

After several "going to see clients in it so it has to be clean", and "I always think a clean car drives better", I finally silenced him by asking why he bothered shaving every morning, or mowing his lawn - wasn't that equally a waste of time, as both would grow again very quickly......

If you were my neighbour I'd invite you to come and test your methods on my car...

Looks great John ... Always nice to see the finished example when done .Only problem is you tend To find more & more as your Going along

How true....I spotted various flaws in the paint while polishing....apart from the multitude of stone chips....have now ordered a Chipex kit ....its either that or a bonnet / front end respray. Have changed jobs recently so some relief for the CLK with sub 10k miles instead of 20k + motorway miles per year. :thumb:
