Did 90's Vauxhalls have a ready-made connection for towing electrics? My 1998 Sintra certainly didn't.

It will almost certainly need a 7 way relay unit splicing into the loom near the back lights.

I can't remember the others off the top off my head. The Sintra was an American design IIRC

I dont think that a plug is fitted as standard. I have had tow bars fitted to my last two cars by a local tow bar specialist and on each occasion they have had to purchase a Mercedes wiring loom and relay which is 'sliced' into the existing harness. This maintains the bulb failure feature and 'informs' the car electronics that a trailer is connected.
