fixing a failed injector seat and bolt

I'm not sure i've never used one. I would do one or two turns to start and see how much comes off then judge from there and keep checking

Ive tried a dozen, is it 17mm or 15mm

Seems the reamer is not reaching far enough, there is a ridge about 20mm up and the reamer is same, seems its catching the edge before the seat ,,, is this double washer time?

Do not insert 2 washers as it will not run correctly, you will noticebly feel it judder as well as it not fueling correctly

Well it seems to me the sides are hitting injector before hitting the seat, i think some cowboy as took a chunk put the seat

The same ridge on cutter i believe is hitting the ridge in the injector whole preventing cutting

with the bolt in place, injector still moves, it is obviously not sitting correctly, in these circumstances, do i double up on the washer?

When the seat is re-cut, you should remove the minimal amount so the original sized washers can be used (1.6mm I believe). If the seat has been cut a bit more, then a 1.7mm washer is available

As I said before, do not use 2 washers for reasons in my previous post. If you wish to ignore, that's your choice.

You should be shaving a little bit off when you recut, it should not be the case that the injector is loose because of it

I understand, but 1 washer the injector still moves

Not sure what to do, if 2 washers seat it corectly, should there b a problem? In other words, if the washers x .2 put the injector in the right place, what problems will there b?

Is the clamp still moving after the bolt is tight ?
Its seems like you may be on your way to a new head

I'm sure I answered this at least twice already

Ok, just to make it clearer, the injector is hitting the casing due to the seat being to far down, when 2 washers are on it doesn't hit cam cover, if one washer used, its hitting the cam cover not allowing the bolt to clamp it down...

You can use what you like but my advice is to only use the copper washer. I have seen silicone type sealant used and it is not good. Remember the whole point of cutting the seat and cleaning it all is to ensure the seal is good and that there is no debris to contaminate the injector hole.

If the bonding agent ends up down the injector hole you will kick yourself so my advise is no.

I know the temptation, but I did my friend's (which was bodged previously) and apart from the temporary bolt (M10) that is in there, I cleaned the silicone type stuff off and removed a SECOND washer that had been shoved down there (Two is definitely not better than One in this case!). The double washer caused incorrect injector spray and it ran rough, esp at idle. After taking all the sealant off and spending plenty of time cleaning, all it well.

Hi Again, how di you manage a m10 bolt in this hole? I had to grind down the m8 so it misses the injector? I am trying to get this goin due to the botched job, if I can secure bolt the injector due to the scrap state of the seat (that the seat cutter cant reach also) what is the next move?
