Formula 1 2020 (Will Contain Race Day Spoilers)

Rumours are Sainz to Ferrari and Ricciardo to McLaren.

Sainz as number two to CLC?
(He does appear to be playing a long game).

When you think of it this could work out really well for him, either way I think its an easy decision.
In the short term though he would need to pull his weight and be up there with CLC.
It would only take a few DNF or Ferrari pit wall calls to turn things bad for CLC which could turn the focus onto Sainz.

Agreed. If he can stick with CLC - and I suspect he has the talent - this could be the move he has been biding his time for.
His career trajectory has been confusing at times but I think his father is guiding him and encouraging patience rather than just jumping for seats that go bad.

It will be a sad day if Seb is lost to F1 retirement through lack of a decent drive. He is still an extremely quick driver and maybe a change of team could work in his favour.
I'd rather keep him around the pit lane than the likes of Lance Stroll who is only behind the wheel due to his fathers $$$$$.

Both Sainz and Ric' would be perfectly suited to the Ferrari. I'd love to see Danny Ric there myself.

Even the Hulk deserves a drive more than Stroll!

It will be sad if Vettel retires at 33, he still has a few seasons in him. Red Bull have said he won't even be considered unless Albon blows it big time this year, by which time it will be too late. I'd like to see him swap with Sainz into the McLaren but I think RIC is favourite for that seat. So that leaves Renault (doubtful) or Mercedes. There could be a drive if Kimi decides to retire but Alpha Romeo is Ferrari linked so doubtful

Might Ferrari be happy to drop Seb into Kimi's vacant Alfa Romeo seat (assuming he retires) as they did with Kimi? Would Vettel settle for that?
What of Toto's comments? Would Mercedes want Vettel for his nationality? Would/could Vettel accept number two status to Hamilton? Will Toto be at Mercedes? Or Aston Martin/Stroll? In which case, where is LH going? All this merry go round and not even an accompanying V6 soundtrack.

I'd like to see this as I think the likes of Alonso (and Vettel) add to the "show".
Perhaps they can bring in Flav and Piquet Jr for Crashgate Take 2...

I don't really like Alonso and think F1 is better off without him. We'll just have to see.

Squeaky bum time for Bottas with Vettel on the market for 2021...

I was exactly the same, used to love being on holiday in Spain when a race was on and he got beat.
But there is no question he is a good driver and can get a lot more out of the car compared to "some" other drivers.

To be honest with all the problems surrounding the sport and more to come this could be exactly what the sport needs.
Put these 2 guys in the same car and let them go for it, would make some great viewing.

Bottas for me has not really lived up to it in a Mercedes and I'd hoped he would have pushed Lewis more.

On his day, Valteri has shown that he can be very quick and occasionally quicker than Lewis. But, I don't think he knows Lewis well enough to push his buttons in the same way Nico did. So he hasn't really been able to knock Lewis off balance. Consequently over a season, Lewis has the advantage.

FWIW, I think Nico looked in the mirror and didn't like the person (he needed to be in order to beat Lewis) looking back at him. I don't think his missus liked that person either. He won himself a championship, but I don't think he wanted to go there again hence his retirement (box ticked).

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Seb at Mercedes in 2021. I would be surprised if someone other than Lewis was his team mate, but stranger things have happened in F1 before.

Well it looks like unless Lewis retires (unlikely), he will be staying at MB. Bottas should definitely be worried. He is quick 'on his day' but that's the problem - his day is few and far between. Vettel has a good chance of getting his seat IMO as I don't think Russell is ready yet, plus he's German.

If Bottas does lose his seat, sadly it could be his last competitive seat in F1 and he could actually struggle to find a seat as they are filling up quickly

If VB looses not only his seat at MB but also his seat in F1 it would be a crime, if the first part has to happen (which I hope it does not) then VB should get DR's seat at Renault, and FA can FO!

Rumours abound that Alonso will drop into a Renault seat in 2021...

I've just seen the RenaultF1 twitter feed from 2 days ago where they posted a picture of Alonso taking 2nd at the 2004 race.
My money is on Alonso in the Renault now.
