Mercedes didn’t bring LH in for tyres because he would lose track position yet MV came in for tyres and didn’t lose track position, how does that work ?

Totally agree. Sport should be a fair contest and I really don’t think that was. LH had to overtake the backmarkers and to make it exciting they were essentially removed for MV. I think F1 is poorer for that decision, seems it was more about improving the spectacle rather than being purely sporting.I don't understand the rules well enough but it seemed that there was a concerted move to make it an exciting and competitive last lap, despite LH's advantage built up throughout the race.
I don't have any love for LH but my impression is he has been badly let down, even cheated.
Michael Masi clearly under orders from Liberty Media Group..Totally agree. Sport should be a fair contest and I really don’t think that was. Ridiculous IMHOFarcical end to the season. Max sacrifices track position to change to softs allowing several lapped cars [a potential future moving obstruction] to pass him-cars which Lewis, who had adopted to stay out, had to negotiate his way past--under the safety car this {moving obstruction} was then effectively removed permitting Max on new soft tyres to overtake Lewis on the final lap. What a joke
By the time the safety car was instigated, I think Lewis had already gone past the point where he could take to the pit lane. They were both a pit stop ahead of 3rd down but not a pit stop between themselves.
Mercedes chose to stay out as if they pitted Red Bull would have stayed out to gain track position.

When you add 13 seconds to the pit stop time he gained even more. The rules are beyond a joke and have brought the sport into disrepute.Correct .... and as already said, how did MV's pitting for fresh tyres gain him 13 seconds?
The pit lane exit is not restricted to safety car speeds.Correct .... and as already said, how did MV's pitting for fresh tyres gain him 13 seconds?

It’s not really racing though. Michael Masi doesn’t have the courage, integrity or consistency to be doing the race directors job. Time for him to go.Excellent race ref the lapped cars under safety car conditions they are allowed to pass the safty car ,ref lonly 4 were allowed was to bring MV and LH back together which would of happened anyway if more laps were left ,the last lap (which I understand was a no contest who would win) but id rather see the last lap racing than see safty car to the end
