anyone know average mpg on a 1992 sl 500 thanks Ihave just bought the car 2 days a go.The instruction book is in german

Urban: 12.9
Extra urban : 28.5
Combined : 19.8

Good on the motorway, bad for stop/start driving.

Would that high figure on the motorway have anything to do with the low drag coifficient?

BTW, your car is a 500SL ... the SL500 designation didn't come in till 1994.
