Hi all,

we seem to have stalled at 8 cars of our target 15 cars, so I contacted Angel who are OK to proceed at the (only slightly higher) price of eur200 per car.

If everyone is OK with this, please confirm either by pm or open reply, and we can proceed to picking a venue and date. A Saturday is probably the most accessible day for most people, I'd suggest the second half of July to give everyone a month's notice...

thanks for the confirmation!

I don't think they need to know anything, possibly the car year may help but most seem to be pretty recent and shouldn't pose any surprises.

Paul from Angel says he's good to go as long as he can get a decent mobile/3G connection.

Sorry but I am pulling out (or least waiting until warranty expires). I have a number of reasons. (1) Remapping can be detected on STAR -it alters the crystals in the injectors and if an injector problem came up, it could invalidate the warranty.(2) If MB introduced a software update and this was carried out at a service, any remap I had paid for would be lost. (3) If after the remap, I had a problem, somehow I cannot see a company travelling over to Ireland for my benefit to sort it out and (4) it seems to me that if the auto box is not remapped as well (few seem to mention/do this), then the gears will not be changing at the higher revs, thus any gains will possibly be lost ie you will be waiting for the gearbox to 'catch up'.

l5foye - sorry to hear it, I've passed your concerns to Angel to see what their responses are but it sounds like your mind is made up. I'll put the responses up for information anyway.

Derek - we could bump a week to Aug 14th, again pending confirmation from Angel.

One drawback - as we only have 5 confirmed cars instead of the planned 15, Angel have to raise the cost to eur250 per car, which I think is still a very good deal. However it is eur75 more than our starting cost so if this is an issue please let me know.

Eddie, I see this is an old post but was the Re-map outing in Ireland ever arranged? I noticed that there wasn't much interest, or not for 15 cars, but I have 2 cars and a friend may also be interested too!! Just figured I'd shout

Hey Lee,

welcome to the forum. The group remap petered out - as the numbers went down, Angel's cost went up (not unreasonable) and it ended up around the same cost as getting it done locally, so we didn't proceed as a group.
