Had some pri*k crash into me

In this part of the warld (Warwickshire), the police are obliged to follow up all complaints of a racial nature.
Might be worth finding out if the same applies in your neck of the woods.

Hope everything works out ok.....

Yeah, road accidents, assault etc we can let go but a few words of a racial nature and it's all over...

The point here is that collision had nothing to do with race, the driving off, attack with a weapon and other events were not racially motiviated, the other party would likely have behaved exactly the same way irrespective of who was driving the other car. The police should be obliged to chase this up regardless.

correct. the guy was obviously an uncivilised thug and his racial abuse just confirms that, rather than being the main reason for the police to chase it up.

I am actually taking someone to court over this next week.

Last year, me my wife mum dad brother were all off out for a meal when some clown started toying with my car and the next thing i know i am getting called all sorts.

My wife was 9 months pregnant at the time and the clown kept driving into trtying to make me swerve of the road. I phoned the police straight away and i am now getting ready to take him to court next monday.

Sad thing is, he lives up the road from where i do... i have thought about safety etc but then, why should i have to put up with it?

I dont conform to stereotypes and my family have been living in the same area for the last 18 years with no trouble what so ever but it only takes one instance to chaneg all that.

I hope he gets whats coming to him but i think he will walk becasue its my word against his but that hasnt stopped me pursuing this in court.

I can live with name calling but when your wifes ready to give birth, its another thing. Its a difficult desicion to make KLP but if chances are he will do it someone else aswell.

I bet the Police would have taken a "different view" if it had been KLP who had crashed into this moran...!!!

Iron bars

If the guy drives around uninsured with an iron bar in the car he's a nutcase. I try and steer clear of nutcases at all times

I'd let the owners of the Corsa pursue the claim against the woman "driver" and forget the whole thing ever happened

I don't see anything to be gained by trying to "win" in this situation. You have no witnesses apart from a hostile one and the perpetrator is a nutcase. Walk away

If you list the offences, we're talking about leaving the scene of an accident and threatening behaviour with a possibility of assault.

If this guy's girlfriend generously admits to driving the car then she's going to take the blame for leaving the scene of the accident as well - he'd better hope that his relationship is pretty secure because this will not only cost her financially in insurance excess and future premiums etc but she may also get fined and points for the other motoring offences and possibly even criminal offences. If she later changes her story then she may still end up with a criminal record for lying to the police etc.

Also if the insurance was TPFT their car needs to be repaired, it is probably not roadworthy atm ;)

Please follow this up with the police, I'm sure we'd all be very interested in how it turns out!

Unbelieveable ... thought I was having a bad day until I read this !

Hope you manage to pursue it and get a positive outcome - the guy sounds like a complete lunatic, and as for his girlfriend .... !

My only concern is what would have happened if he hit into a lady driver. It really bothers me that my mum could have been driving, with lunatics like that on the loose.

With racial abuse, i normally don't stoop down to their level. I normally laugh it off, its childish behaviour. What i don't like is a metal bar waved in my face, i don't like backing down especially when i'm right.

All that was required was a simple apology, exchange of details and we're both on our way. If he had explained to me in a adult manner that he was uninsured but his girlfriend was insured i would have gladly stated i was unsure of the driver. Its less hassle that way etc.

But getting abuse for doing nothing wrong is jsut out of order, and with regards to the police, whats the point??? More than happy to prosecute if your 4mph over the limit, but then turn a blind eye to a potential assault. It just sums up the Policeforce in the UK.

It would have been interesting if i swapped roles with the 3rd party and then seen the police response.

Anyway looks like my 2 projects (W202 and SEC) are going to be put on hold as my back is hurting. Unfortuantely these little Corsa's don't have crumple zones!!

I can't tell you how sorry i am for your misfortune. With one thing and another it's not been a good week. Sorry we won't see the SEC at the GTG on the 11th, hope you feel better soon.

Claim for full loss of earnings/compensation for your back...

May be best to just put the claim through in the normal way, at the end of the day by informing the relevant authorities that she was not driving will only slow down your claim and create you alot more hassle. At least if the claim goes through you won't have the headache of the corsa and you could still claim for your injured back.

I hate to see justice not being upheld but with this idiot having your address I would be inclined to let it go quietly.

At the end of the day you were not serioulsy hurt thank god.

The only prob is he has my home address, which was given to him by the police as you have to swap details! As my home address was on my license, its the one that got given

I'm just annoyed at the fact he crashes into me, threatens me, tries to assault me and then manages to wiggle his way out!!

Have you got his address?

If so PM me with it and a date you are on holiday overseas travelled to by Aeroplane ;) I will ask him to apologise

Alternatively mention to the police complaints authority that you believe your case is not being investigated due to prejudice (racial) on the part of the police!

Where does he live ?

We could have a GTG at his house, we could all bring our bats ......

not sure what makes me angrier in this case - the behaviour of the thug in question, or the police........
by the way what car was the guy/his girlfriend(!) driving?
