first time in my car and bike, i didnt tell anyone i was taking my car test and when i passed no one believed i had, gutted!

:bannana::bannana:i passed 1st time 2 weeks and 6 days after my 17th birthday and on friday the 13th as well:bannana::bannana:

I passed 2nd time. My step son took 7 (seven) attempts to pass, finally did an auto test is a Smart fortwo and passed only to lose it again by driving like a *** 3 points from a camera, speed awareness course from another camera then 57 iirc in a 30 for a further 6 points! All in 1st 2 yrs so he's back to applying for his provisional, re-take of both theory & practical tests and then he'll still have 9 points. Add in 2 accidents and insurance is getting daft! But then I wouldn't want to be in a car with him driving or be the one taking the risk of his next bash either!!!

Passed the bike test first time. took four attempts at the driving test though.

Bit of a joke really.

1st test - failed because a lorry swerved in front of me and the examiner had a panic and braked (i was doing the same) failed because "he had to touch the brake" 4 minor faults apart from that

2nd test - failed for not looking over my shoulder when exiting a roundabout. I argued this one and pointed out that i didn't have to and the car sported a perfectly serviceable mirror for this job which i had checked. the comment back? "Yes but i like people to look over their shoulder. 5 minors of which 3 were for 'not looking over shoulder' but under the incorrect use of mirrors category.

3rd time - got taken down a tiny back street with cars badly double parked at the end of the street. Edging out of the junction the examiner stopped the car, had a check out of his window that we were clearing the car on his side (we were about a foot off) and told to carry on. Result "an excellent drive but because i touched the brake you've failed" 3 minor points. I went ballistic at the goon because he'd cost me a fortune and 3 times there had been nothing wrong with my driving.

Took my next test at a different centre (went to sheffield actually) had tram tracks and new roads to contend with but an examiner that wasn't an idiot and passed with 5 minor faults. Two of which were hesitation on the right turn coming back into the test centre across a busy road because i didn't want to mess it up right at the end!

Passing driving test is depends upon our preparation if you are prepare well then you will pass in 1st attempt.

At the time of driving test follow the highway code rule.
Follow your instructors instruction.

Below are the some points which causes failure in driving test:

  • Inadequate observation moving off at junctions,
  • At roundabouts and when changing lanes;
  • Failure to anticipate the actions of other drivers;
  • Inadequate observations to the rear;
  • Inadequate progress at junctions, roundabouts, on the straight, and when overtaking;
  • Incorrect or inadequate use of mirrors and signals;
  • Non-compliance with traffic controls, e.g. road signs and markings and traffic lights;
  • Incorrect inadequate or inappropriate use of vehicle controls, including gears, clutch; accelerator, steering, handbrake, footbrake, and secondary controls;
    excessive speed for the road or traffic conditions;
  • Failure to yield the right of way to others;
  • Lack of competence in the reverse and turnabout manoeuvres.
So dont worry about Driving practice well you will pass in 1st attmpt

Passed first time for car and bike. The test car was a Mk4 Escort 1.8D and the test bike was a Honda CG125.

Passing driving test is depends upon person of ability for learning driving and his instructor. If his instructor is good teacher and he is catching the things fast he learn it quickly and it will help to pass the Driving test very easily.:)

My instructor kept telling me right up to the moment me and the examiner drove off in his [the instructor's] car, "You're not ready, just use this as a learning experience so that when you do take the test for real, after another 15 lessons, you'll know what to expect".

I passed first time.

Passed at the 3rd attempt...

First attempt was at 17 and a couple of weeks. In the family's second car, a 9 year old Ford 100E Anglebox. Clouted the kerb during a left turn, plus I only looked in the mirror instead of over my shoulder when moving off. My fault - having had no lessons except from my father, although I'd been driving on a disused aerodrome for several years.

Second attempt was after a couple of lessons in a Morris 1000 estate car. This time it was 'insufficient progress' which got me - being perhaps too cautious after being overconfident the first time.

Then I passed my Private Pilots Licence, so could fly between aerodromes carrying passengers if someone could first drive me to the aerodrome!

Third time was after lessons with an experienced, placid chap in an Austin 1100. I breezed it, thankfully.
