How do you Fit a AUX Chinch Socket to Auido 20 C-class

Hi,

I recently got a new C-Class Sports Coupe SE and wanted to fit an external audio source. I was wondering if this was possible to fit the cinch socket yourself. The manual mentioned that it is an upgrade option (and it would be located in the glove box) - the words "upgrade option" scared my wallet.

I believe the audio uses optical (but I am not sure)

- the only link I could find on the web was for on

http://www.installer.com/aux/index.html MERCEDES Aux input for Mercedes with Fiber Optics for $259.95.

I was not sure if this was what I needed to get... I was hopping that all that is needed is a simple (cheap) adapter that can be fitted to the back of the audio

Any ideas

As far as I know, Aux input can only be connected to comand units. It is some sort of compensation, because the comand doesn't come with a tape deck or CD-drive for music CD's. Aux can be used to connect an external Audio system, like MP3 player, cassette deck...

It works for AUDIO 20

I am not sure, if the AUDIO 20 unit is command ? (being new) but my in car audio does have a built in CD and I found the AUX input lead in the right hand door sill inside the plastic cover - its a white molux plug with 4 connections (+R, -R and +L, -L) I could not wait to order a cable just made one up using some spade connectors and spare speaker cable - it worked a treat
