Do you know if you need to disconnect the battery, before fiddling with the airbag?
confused on how airbag buttons hooks up to cluster though
WOW! Looks new! Ill def post pics when I finish-
So far Ive gotten ahold of the following-
-AMG Cluster-w210
-AMG airbag with buttons
-Comand 2.0
-wood trim for comand -matches current trim in car
Just need to get the SRS ring and wiring-
Im sending the cluster off to have the mileage corrected to that of my C43
Im still confused on the wiring, and the positions and such----everything else seems pretty straight forward
Does anyone know where I can get the wiring harness/loom that goes from steering column to the back of the cluster and from the back of the comand to the cluster? Its all Im missing!!!!
Thank you so much for posting such a nice information....i think really such a good trick shown here...it will really helpful to repair your car...!This comes up on a regular basis, so I thought i would convert the pdf file that is knocking about everywhere into a how-to friendly thread.
All credit goes to Paul Darke who originally wrote the guide. I remember him telling me that he wanted this as a howto officially but i believe he has since left the forum, so i'm putting it up here. I have done this to my W208 CLK and can confirm the instructions are correct
Follow these instructions at your own risk, this worked on my 1998
E430. It has also been tested and verified on a W208 CLK.
However I am not sure if it is the same for all W210’s. I only decided
to write these Instructions after I had completed the upgrade, as a
result I don’t have all the part numbers.
This should cost no more than £800
Note: some of the photos refer to the removal of old parts, but show new parts being removed. This is because the photos were
only taken after the project was completed.

BEFORE YOU START - DISCONNECT YOUR BATTERY - DO NOT TOUCH BATTERY OR IGNITION ONCE YOU HAVE TAKEN THE AIRBAG OUT UNTIL IT IS ALL SCREWED BACK ON AGAIN. THIS WILL AVOID DANGER AND ALSO HOPEFULLY PREVENT THE SRS LIGHT COMING ON!!
