HOWTO: Retrofit facelift wheel/cluster to pre-facelift W210/W208

when i got my programmed i know the size of the tank has to be specified and also whether it has 2 senders or just 1. maybe its been set to the wrong values here.....

ho much did you pay to get it programmed? how do you find out if you have one or two senders?

Hi,
I believe all W202's have 2 senders.

I will bare this in mind when i get my programmed when i can find some who can do it.

It cost me $63.58 from the Mercedes dealer. They were awesome! Very helpful. It was working properly before the program...Ill let the shop foreman know about the sensors and what not beforehand. What I understand the w202 and w208 are the same and have the sensor on the inside of the tank, whereas the w210 has the sensor on the outside. If you mix up the clusters, the fuel guage will read inverted.

My car shows "No Malfunction", I made sure to turn teleaid off

HELP HELP HELP

Ok the car is back the the dealership..having a hard time figuring out the problem with the fuel gauge.

Symptoms:
The fuel gauge (from the w208) is moving backwards from empty to half a tank....it approaches half a tank as Im driving and about when the car's fuel contents are actually empty. I put in the old (w202) cluster and it read the same reading.

Mercedes is able to program litres in variables of 65,70 and 80 litre, my c43 is 62 litre so I asked for closest thing for it...65 litres

Anyone have any idea?

Did you check if the cluster was set up with one or two senders? C43 has two fuel senders

He is saying that he cannot access that with the star machine...he even checked both senders and made sure they were functioning correctly

As some of you are aware i am doing the MF steering mod i asked a guy if he can code the new cluster he said yes, but will need the exsisting cluster so he can download info from it. Is this correct or can it be done with out the old cluster?

i didnt need the old cluster to do mine - i sent the new cluster away to Steve in the netherlands to get it done....

only thing i didnt adjust was the mileage, as they were similar anyway. i reckon this may be why they need your old one so they match up the same?

They cant store it (w202) and put it into the w208 cluster because they differ...so he doesnt need it....if your fuel guage works correctly....can you please tell me what all they programmed...lol...my fuel guage is still acting up...real pain in the ass

Ok...so to revive an old thread I have solved the problem. In w202 cars you must install a w208 cluster not from the CLK55...it has to be from a 6 cylinder

Hi! I want to do this mod to my '99 w208 200K cab. I have a few questions. First of all I do not have any parts, so I guess ebay is the way to go? If I use amg version steering wheel and ic, would be ok? And finally, does the display show everything as the facelift version (fuel consumption e.g. ) ? Thank you!
