Why wouldn't you? It's far cheaper, does what it told more importantly doesn't talk back! :bannana: ;) :D
indeed JJJ!:D

But of course we are better, as evidenced by the stats for this thread (94 replies, 2338 views) compared to the counter-thread of "I don't want a non AMG" (30 replies, 970 views). Absolute proof that not wanting an AMG is far more attractive than wanting nothing else.

:p:bannana::D:cool: :rolleyes:

Which was my whole point in starting the thread in the first place......

You do or you don't, who gives a $hit really, each to their own :dk:

are they golden stitched??
And why you doing a 124 with a 3.6 engine in it you clearly don't want an AMG!;)

I never said I didn't want one but it has to be a 124.The point I was trying to make was that just because we choose to drive other cars, does not mean we can't afford better ones

confess you really want one!:P

My shoe size is 9, but I tell people 10 so they will think better of me.

Very topical - I followed a lovely W166 350 today, right up to the point where the road opened up and he gave it the beans.

At the moment he went from being an image in my front facing camera to being a spec in my rear view mirror my continued AMG ownership reasoning became crystal clear (again) :thumb:

Looks like your big black tool was at it again John.... I'm gonna get in trouble for that comment I know.

A while ago certain AMG owners stated that some of us are only jealous because we can't afford the cars As for being able to afford them, the price of only the front seats on my car could buy you a C32 C36 C43 or an E55

Can you find an example of this view pervading amongst presently active members in the AMG lounge ?

In my experience it's very much past history.

I suspect we can find plenty of examples where people who own all sorts of Mercedes variants have said slightly silly things.

Take views on the price of seats for example ....... ;)

It may come as a heck of a shock but some people really do not want an AMG even though they can afford a new S-Class variant.
For me the reasons are clear - I do not have the self discipline to stick to the speed limit and am afraid of ruining my driving record and the knock-on affects. This after driving one for 800+kms when settling down to what I thought was an appropriate speed only to realise it was 40 km/h over the limit and in instant loss of licence territory. That taught me the best place for an AMG is on a track - otherwise it's a waste, or potentially a seriously life changing instrument.
There is also the look at me factor which is bad enough at the moment [but is getting better as they get older] and then there is the challenge of driving quickly in something less powerful and older - it is more of a challenge and makes you feel as if you are driving/concentrating better - more satisfying in a way, bit like the feeling an old mini gave you.
Anybody can drive fast in an AMG, it's as easy as scratching your foot, not everybody can achieve virtually the same in a non AMG older style car when the spirit moves and the road is challenging - takes more skill you see.

So, no AMG for me, not unless I want a track day car.

Agreed with the old more challenging cars, this is my little collection. The one on the right is not old, it is a trex with nothing but your skill to keep control.

Totally disagree

Not all AMG owners drive fast, not all AMG drivers know how to drive fast but some take it upon themselves to learn how to drive fast by professionals. I don't mean point the car and floor it, much much more than that but I won't bore you with details, the internet is a hive of information ;)

It takes as much skill, if not more due to power/weight ratio, to drive an AMG fast as a "Smaller" car i.e. your Mini example :(

You just keep on scratching that foot of yours and mind it doesn't get infected :thumb:

I like the order you have imposed on your shelves
