I don't want an AMG

Actually.....when I bought my SL I can and could afford an AMG, my first choice was the 500, then i realized I could get a 55, then I researched and as it was going to be used on a daily basis I plumped for the 350.
I don't need the speed or power, the economy was a bit better, the servicing was a touch more and reliability of the brakes and suspension was in question. Non of that really bothered me, I could and can afford it but at the end of the day my car looks pretty much like an AMG to all but the trained eye. It looks like a 'flash' car :D

but i'd never get an AMG diesel, that's so not right:p

I would however get a 55/63/65 maybe one day, but if trade up it'll probably be to a different marque anyway.

sensible answer over

where can I get AMG badges?

This thread does make me chuckle.

The reality is 99% of those on here that are knocking 'proper' AMG ownership just cant afford one, end of. :p

Haha! I think we could make a movie from these 3 threads!

Rashman seems to have the popcorn sorted, and KE must be on something intoxicating so if he doesn't mind sharing we're sorted! :D

The question is how many people OWN one? I suspect most people that consider running an MB could easily afford to LEASE an AMG that's why I don't think the argument is about money at all

Many many people have the money to buy AMGs and even more expensive cars. That, however, is the not the same, by any stretch, as being able to afford one.

Come April many many people will do just that..and live to regret it.

If DM was still around.... he would probably say that many of the AMG owners on here can't afford them either... :D

Neither can many of the AMG "owners", hence why they just borrow them for a bit!

What happens in April? Budget?

I aught to point out, that's not my view, rather a quote from another poster in the closed thread. And I think he was actually being serious :D

But Ed said he will raid Pension Funds to pay for university tuition fees....

I do find this recent batch of threads curious. Is an AMG not just a more sporting version of the Mercedes model upon which it's based?

If so then it's a bit like tension between 280/300 CDi owners and 320/350 CDi owners, which are fundamentally the same with a few tweaks for performance.

But Ed said he will raid Pension Funds to pay for university tuition fees....

The election is in May.

Ed said he would reduce tax relief on contributions for the better paid...not raid funds.

And so am I .... What you mean you didn't miss me??

Just back from a blast round the Cotswolds in my AMG I can't afford.....

... to leave sitting on my driveway. Paid good money for it so will rag the **** off it :)

Just converted £50 of Shell's finest V-Power into lotsa heat, noise and rapid motion!! :) :)

If a thread (any subject) is closed, please dont recreate it.

Merging threads. :fail
