I have recently taken a job where i have to commute 45 minutes along country roads and i have never experianced worse drivers in my life

1. morons who go at 90 at straights but go at 20 round bends
2. idiots who drive in the pouring rain with no lights on
3.people who dont friggin indicate at roundabouts and then give u abse when u go through!!!
4. morons who think its alright to overtake over double white lines in middle of road
5.idiots who overtake when there is clearly not enough time to do it and nearly run into buses on the other side of the road. RAGING

Sounds pretty much like my journey to and from work every day and tbh - most people's:rolleyes: The roads are full of poor drivers sadly.

Only this afternoon coming home had two bikes "playing". One played safe always checking over his shoulder for his blind spot when deciding to change lane. The other one didn't and nearly got very cozy with my front nearside wing. Luckily I saw it coming as I'd watched his lack of observation for some time. Is this unusual - no :(

and I'm sure after today you can add: driving too fast in snowy conditions.

My advice is to listen to some relaxing music and keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaiming it on you.

I drive around 1000 miles a week and have done so for the past 7 years, nothing I see on the roads surprises me anymore, the standard of driving has gone from bad to worse.
One of my pet hates is on the M6 between J20 and J16 the number of ******* that sit in the 3rd lane until they are on top of the exit and then just indicate and cut across causing the traffic in the other two lanes to brake, this is a major cause of traffic jams on motorways.
I personally would like to see the traffic cop back on the road catching these idiots and ensuring that I continue to get home safe to me family.

Rant over.

There are some forum members who shuffle steer, "make progress" and have pencil-cams on the dash and rear window...

IMO a defensive-driving course is a good investment.

:o

If everybody is so good, then who are these bad drivers?

Same as all those parents saying my kid will never hurt a fly, whose kids are doing the hurting then?

Just drive at your own pace and ignore the road rage and blood rush.

Well you should have been on the A3 near Guildford at around 11.30pm last night. Very heavy burst of sleet/snow, temperature down to -1C, could see ice forming up on the door mirrors.

So obvious that it was the proper moment for various drivers to be:

weaving a heavily laden Corsa with misted up windows through traffic in a very dangerous manner,

driving with sidelights only

within a foot of the car in front

Think the simple fact is that we can choose our friends, where we go and how to conduct our lives. But on the road you are exposed to a random cross section of society. And there are a lot more stupid, ignorant people about than most of us suppose.

"Everybody who drives slower than me is an idiot. Everybody who drives faster than me is a maniac."

I don't know who said that, but I think it just about sums things up.

How do you catch the ones doing 90 even if they slow down...

On a roundabout you should give way to the car already on the roundabout, irrespective of whether it indicates.

I wonder what the other drivers say about you... ;)

True about everything: work, the pub, this forum.................

im sure they wonder who the very attractive man driving the car whos driving very kindly is.....:bannana:

i dont mind cars going fast, i may have exagarated the speed but i think the point is still valid. (even if my spelling is atrocious)

If you really think you are a good driver (or would like to improve your driving) you should think about http://www.iam.org.uk

You can have an observed drive for an introductory £25 or get instruction and the full test for £99.

You know that expression about putting your money where your mouth is ;)

I experienced some shocking driving the other day; I was going uphill on a 3 lane road, and a car in front of the car in front of me was turning right and was just sticking out of the reservation waiting for a gap in the traffic, and the car directly in front of me stopped dead behind him instead of swerving around him. As this was uphill I was going pretty quickly and had to brake hard, and then do a hill-start. Not difficult in an Auto, but still irritating and does of course use more fuel.

Surprise surprise, it was a girl
