Internet connection in new C Class with iPhone and LED light settings

Internet connection

Hi
I have had the same problem with my W205 C class and iPhone 5S with internet connection. Had the car since Nov and already done 6000 miles.

I can only get it to connect via a hotspot once i had done the navigation module update ( if i remember correctly)- you have to remove the SD card and plug it into laptop and do an update through Mercedesbenz.com/connected. (use a PC- it doesn't work on my Macbook).

Also i believe the operating system for IOS doesn't allow the internet connectivity automatically so i find it tedious to do each time (my old Mini was much easier to connect to internet even while driving)

Cheerio

Navigation Module Update?? Not come across this before, what is it please. Can't find any reference to it on the net??

I'm awaiting a call from the dealer - they said with mine that they were 'waiting for a disk from Germany'. It was expected this week but I've heard nothing from the dealer as yet. Once I've been back, I'll report back here as to the success or otherwise :)

Begs the question as to why it's not installed in the first place? The car was delivered new late December and the iPhone is hardly a niche product is it??

Taking it in next week. I'm with you, it could be possible to live with it but not when the premium plus upgrade was for the high end hi fi, and the online benefits of COMAND-neither of which are in perfect working order. I'll let you know how I get on.
Dealer says nothing wrong with the speakers! Early either tone deaf or playing a game. Slightest issue in my opinion is unacceptable and the resonance had got much worse since last post. Any ideas on how to progress this now??

I fixed this issue in my car by installing an app called BlueDUN on my phone. I then set it's settings to be activated when I turned on Bluetooth. It basically enables Bluetooth tethering and it works a treat in my car. Good luck.

Internet connection still not working in my W205.

In the (many) times the car has been in, I've had various loaners. An older cla with previous version of command worked perfectly with Internet and my iPhone. I also had an SLA (100 miles on the clock so brand new) and that also worked perfectly with my iPhone.

Dealer has said that MB are aware that there is 'an issue with 02 and the new c class. In a nutshell, they've tried a vodaphone sim iPhone in my car and it works. My O2 enabled iPhone works perfectly in two of their loan cars so my phone is clearly capable of Internet connection.

Speakers are still rattling. Will post in another thread about that.

Per the speaker issue, I also have the phone one! iPhone 6 on O2. Will simply not connect to the Internet. Like yourself it did in the loan cars.

Hi, i have had the same problem with iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 Command online. I am on O2 and basically it worked for one day after Mercedes mada software update. Now doesn't work at all and the phone keeps dropping off. Mercedes are now saying its an O2 issue and they are looking into it with O2, but neither side will take responsibility. My phone tethers fine to my iPad and Samsung tablets so thats not the issue. I was basically told to wait and see, with no idea if the issue will be resolved. I also have my fuse box cover in my glove box as it has been put back on and fallen off again about 5 times so far. All in all Mercedes is pretty poor and i will be glad to go back to Audi.

I have an iPhone 6 (personal) on EE, and an iPhone 5c (work) on Vodafone, and have no issues getting online with either. I have also used the wife's iPhone 4, daughters iPhone 5s, my iPad mini and sons iPad 3.

It is a bit of a useless gimmick though IMO, the data transfer over Bluetooth is painfully slow and pretty useless :-/

There are a few things that need update I think, several setting on the Garmin sat nav don't 'stay set' and need re doing every time you start the car. The agility select also defaults at every start and a few other minor things. Anyone heard any rumours of new firmware/software updates?

Sorry for dragging this back up, but my iPhone used to be on O2 and I was told they don't allow the connection to be shared. Ie it's a network choice. Not sure if this helps any.

I've ordered a new C250 AMG Line Premium Plus and hope I don't have this issue.

I have a Three iPhone 5S and it initially worked with my C200 premium plus Comand with bluetooth, then a few days later didn't, but works with bluetooth audio and bluetooth phone, plus the fact the car recognises my phone in the connection status menu, but reports it as 'offline'. When it isn't.

My number which was ported to Three was an O2 number. I have a bizarre hypothesis -Comand has subsequently ascertained my mobile number is an 'O2' number from the connection 'handshakes'/network lookup and now shows as 'offline' in the connection status. Nothing to do with data connections (same settings), and just down to the fact Comand thinks my number is O2. (told you it was a bizarre one)

I would check your APN settings. I had a similar issue when ported from O2 and it turned out to be the Mobile Data settings were still set to O2. I'm also aware that 3 have been pushing out new carrier settings (to do with 4G voice) so it could be something has gone wrong there?

I've been ported to Three for about 3 years now and it was on the same data settings.
Could be the carrier settings, but I think I must have updated mine before 22 December 2015 which is when I got my new C200, and the internet worked over bluetooth until about 3 days ago.

Maybe it's something to do with the gradual roll in of services associated with the carrier update, which Three didn't email me about, but you pointed me in the direction of...
iPhone 6 users on Three can now get VoLTE access and improved coverage ? just in time for Christmas! | JM Communications

Have you got hotspot enabled on the iPhone as it needs this to pass data to and from the car. Also my Three contract is pre June 2015 and apparently SIM only contracts before this don't don't allow hotspot. The answer according to three is to change my contract for a more expensive one that includes hotspot.

I did have hotspot enabled - but the original internet connection worked using the bluetooth connection. As it couldn't have possibly worked with using my hotspot without entering my password. (unless a bluetooth authentication on iPhone gives the car the green light to hotspot the iPhone without the hotspot password).

My Three contract is a hybrid, originally a 24 mth contract, migrated to a SIM only contract about 12 months ago (same physical SIM). Mine allows hotspots and other family can use my hotspot. Still scratching my head.

I've got an iPhone 6. On my car none of the data related functions seem to work unless I enable hotspot. Have you tried turning that back on? You don't seem to need to put in the password.

Thanks for all the info on this, mine started working after I switched personal hotspot on. Worked on my wife's new a class but didn't work on my new cla, I think that has something to do with not activating my Mercedes connect me yet.

In my case I established it was my Three network that doesn't work now with MB, my SIM includes hotspot and tethering
I bought a EE pay as you go sim, and internet works just fine on the same phone!
Slot my Three SIM back in and it doesn't connect to the internet again.
