The messages are coming into my e-mail thingie in a hotch potch fashion. I have just seen the VIN description and I place more faith in that over the RAC site.

It is clearly an SL60.

Sincere apologies for causing a slight doubt, but it was done with the very best of intentions and has bought out a lot more information on this very nice car.

Regards,
John the stirrer

Hi, Where is the link to input registration numbers on the RAC system?

Regards.

Its a prefacelift car but someone has changed the AMG kit to a post facelift design. And its the old 4spd auto model, a bit slower than the facelift car to change gears.
Also the rear bootlid has been taken from another car and been fitted straight on as the colour does not match the rest of the car.
I would personally spend a bit more and buy a facelift model.

I'm not goign to go ahead with it... the 5 owners put me off and i would like a face lift car.

Also as KLP has pointed out (which I was not aware off the bootlid appears to have come off another car and bodykit changed...). When I asked the owner if been in accident or anything or had any bodaywork/paintwork done he cleary said "NO"... Surely, he would have noticed the bootlid colour variation himself...

Good morning Flash,
Is KLP referring to the original car, or the one found by stats007?

The 5 owners you refer to clearly belongs to the first car, but now two SL's have been mentioned it is getting confusing.

You're probably right about getting a later car. The bodykit however is correct for the model - the bootlid looks a bit suspect but that could be down to the camera. Until you saw it in the flesh you really couldn't say.

Realistically you're looking at £25k for a nice one - if you can find it!

Hi,

From looking at pics of the 5 owner car there clearly does appear to be a varitaion in the bootlid colour but perhaps posisbly is down to camera lighting as Stats007 pointed out but looks dodgy now after KLP pointe dthis out. Facelift later cars are nice...

Trust me mate - the sort of morning I have had i'm headfing down for a pint now at local shortly and lunch - my other half has been doing my head in...

Alternatively if you have more money than sense...

SL730

This is odd, but as a bespoke order I suppose he could spec anything. The mirrors and oil pressure gauge amongst other things are wrong for a '99 model.
