low mileage SL60

You're probably right about getting a later car. The bodykit however is correct for the model - the bootlid looks a bit suspect but that could be down to the camera. Until you saw it in the flesh you really couldn't say.

Realistically you're looking at £25k for a nice one - if you can find it!

The bodykit is not correct. The side vents on the slab of the wings is rectangular showings its a prefacleift car. The car came originally with the old style kit not the later updated version. Also if it had the updated kit it should have had an updated interior and side vents etc.

Alternatively if you have more money than sense...

SL730

This is odd, but as a bespoke order I suppose he could spec anything. The mirrors and oil pressure gauge amongst other things are wrong for a '99 model.

A black convertible with black seats in the Middle East... Ouch!! Talk about hot bot. It would certainly be a quick cure for the sterilization of haemorrhoids :D

Flash,
The problem with women, is they are usually right, and usually more sensible than there better half! ;)

Buy her a bunch of flowers (that way you get what you want!!! ;) )

Take care,
John

The bloke selling the car is hiding alot of info and he does know the SL range inside out which is dodgy! When I asked him a couple of questions on the phone after he answered everthing else i thorough detail he became a little "stuck" and ended the conversation. When i enquired about the contrast in colour of the bodykit and bodywork (which was standard on pre face lift models...) he said that the car was fitted and equipped with the OEM factacory AMG bodykit which obviously it is not as it has been updated later on... my gusses are car has been involved in accident at some point hence the bootlid as well which KLP picked up on... The seller reckons that everthing on the car is OEM factory and nothing has been changed - 56k is low mileage for a 5 owner car!!!

How about this:

1996 Mercedes SL60 AMG chassis WDB1290672F114767

£1 START & NO RESERVE

THIS CAR WILL NOT BE REMOVED - IT WILL SELL TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER ON EBAY UNLESS SOMEONE PURCHASES IT FOR THE BUY IT NOW PRICE OF £25,950

He then goes and ends the auction early 'because the item is no longer available!!'

Gone back on his word then....

The guy was an A$$ (especially when I started asking more questions about the car and enquired about the bootlid which KLP pointed out and he hung on me when I said I shall be measuring the thickness of the paint all over the car/boot lid especially just to wind him up because he became quite abrupt when I was just asking general info about the car that was landing him in it.. ;)

It was up fopr £25k last week, lets see how long he takes before cancelling the auction again......
