My manual box 220 CDI sport coupe has now covered 88K miles, I'd like to change the g/box oil but can't find the spec listed anywhere.

Has anyone else down the job ?

questions are :

1 grade & type of oil
2 additive Yes or No
3 Capacity ?

ta for any help

Dave

Look on the Opie oils website.

This is the one that they recommended for my 6-speed c220cdi (2002)

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-976-fuchs-titan-sintofluid-fe-sae-75w-synthetic-manual-transmission-oil.aspx

I tried to find out the recommended mileage for changing it, but Mercedes said it was filled for life. I was also told that it "might be a good idea to change it at 150K miles"

Mine has done 165K, but I am waiting for better weather as I have to do my maintenance outside.

Whatever oil you choose, made sure it is Mercedes 235.10 accredited.

I think it takes 1.8 litres, but I cannot be certain. An email to Opie oils will confirm this.

Cheers Duncan

Will take a look at Opie, mine is also a 6 speed box, like you my car is kept outside although working with a friend I can use the company workshop.
