Meet Silvia the s211 e55 7 seater

The car was Never tested from cold the rockers were still warm 3 bars showing on the temp gauge which at 45 degres was enough stop the box from playing up. This did however get alot worse very quickly.

The tank had been leaking for ages as you would see by the state of the grommet but you would not notice that much if it wasn't garaged, All my cars are and i had to put the car outside as the fumes we that overpowering within the House.

Radiator hose was my fault entirly and i dont blame you for that one bit nor have i ever.

Thats all im going to say on the above matter concerning you and the car im sure people can make there own minds up.

Sorry but have to reply........this thread is really turning into a great big sob story........i thought this Forum was for MB and not human beings stories?

When you buy a car the receipt usually says "bought as seen and tested" i can hardly imagine that a Forum member would sell his motor on here not actually mentioning the bad points because of come back?

I do feel sorry for Mr Fixit as the motor apparently it seems was looked over properly, which is not what we we are led to believe!

One buys and has to accept the consequences whether good or bad so the job in hand should be got on with, sounds hard i know but it is a hard world and in this modern era it is everyone for himself.

So now this thread will turn into a saga of thoughts by members instead of concentrating on the real problem?

It will all blow over and the motor will be fixed and not sold as what happened with another motor!

So Update

I've fitted the New Tank module with the Filter inside, It deffnatly was a bugger due to the clips which hold the pipes to the Pumps, these kept pooping off, Aparently these clips have tobe pulled out once the pipes are located then they will sercure onto the pumps.

I did order 2x Walbro 400LPH fuel pumps which arrived today which i am keeping just incase although after dam good hard drive the car has been 100% and power has been restored.

A would also like to say if anyone does not like the thread please do not view it. The thread is meant to show what it can take to own one of these vehicles, I also dont remember anyone having issues when they bought Brutus for instance immediately afterwords?

Anyway thankyou guys for all the advice and help , the car touch would is now running as it should be and is withdrawn for sale.

Cars, no matter how well looked after can develop expensive faults just after purchase.

I can understand that the OP clearly has a number of significant issues in his life at present and some far more important than the car however I do think that his attempts to blame the seller for the faults is somewhat disingenuous. The car had clearly been looked after and regularly checked and serviced by reputable MB garages.

Also, the OP did, apparently, spend a considerable time going over the car before buying it and it seems highly likely that the fuel leak / poor fuel pump performance would have been noted if present.

The seller seems to have a good reputation here and I do doubt that they would sell a potentially dangerous car if they had known about the faults prior to the sale.

As ever in these situations emotions can run high and sometimes cloud judgement. There seems to be no absolute proof of the faults either pre-existing or being known of by the seller.

As I said it was a warm day and I had NOT run the car, it was checked by MB and I knew nothing about the fuel leak despite brimming the tank as I don't bother with £10 and £20 as your need it anyway, that said how the hel am I supposed to know what state the grommet is in and never garaged her nor smelt fuel in any way. I hope she is sorted and you have enough faith to stick with her as I doubt you will find one in better condition internally as you have commented on numerous occasions

Nearly forgot, Whilst we worked on the car i thought it was also a good time to change those plugs, they had been done in the past but since it had run a little lean on the way back i thought why not.

Bosch Replacements were fitted

Cheers Bob, you and Grober have been so much help amongst others with your access to EPC:thumb:

Gav I'm please shes fixed and all good, I always wanted she would go to a loving home;- there is still a part of me that would have bought her back and completed the work.:)

In the spirit of reconciliation, I'll still send you the box of beers;- pick 12 and let me know!

The page only shows the core beers but there's another page coming with seasonals and they are hoppy!

then keep it to the ownership issues and don't slam others

I was wondering why you hadn’t replied before. Certainly is interesting to hear both sides of the story.

It just seems an unlucky thing to have happened, hopefully it’ll be fixed soon enough.
Yes it is...and to all those who jumped in before hearing this...shame on you.

The unfairest point for me about the fuel tank and the blame the OP placed upon Mr Fixit was that he bought the car on June 21st and only complained about fuel smell on 4th August...yet clearly accused the seller of knowing about this when he bought the car.

Op, my daughter works in PICU in GOSH...so I sincerely wish you and yours all the very best for the forthcoming operation. You will have the very best attention.

Thankyou, They saved our 11 year old all those years ago and have received nothing but the best care for him and his youngest brother, so we do realise he has the best care out there.:thumb:

I note that the OP has chosen to not (so far) acknowledge the posts above outlining the unfairness of some of his comments and also in response to the sellers offer of a reconciliatory gift.

If you choose to air and accuse your grievances on a public forum then it is only right and fair that some balance be shown.

How quickly a large drama blows over...............

So just thought id Share the Walbro's i purchased Just incase the Originals were worn out, They came from a company Popular with the Volvo crowd and id fitted a few of these to the t5's before with great results.

These are Rated at 400 LPH each and are a exact size in Height as the Oe pump although i think because they are slightly wide at the bottom you may have to modify slightly the pastic cage they sit in. Other than that they look like they would do the job.

They came Next day delivery from Motor Sport Developments.

Motorsport Developments - Live Mapping Specialists & The Home Of Evolution Chips

At least i now have them as a spare if anything does happen.

Gav......if you do eventually fit them the polarity will almost 99% be opposite and will have to change the wires over or fit new spades or clamps.
Another essential is fit new convoluted hose if you use straight hose and bend it it will kink and distort with the petrol and block the supply of fuel.
Just trying to help;)
