Replaced Both Rusted and Partially missing Bonnet Buffer's with the Febi items, Much much better!!

Another bit that was broken for me to find was the the Vanity Mirror on the nearside. So again replacement care of ebay for only £10!
Mercedes wanted £147 for the complete Sunvisor. 5 mins and all was fitted as Oe.

Anyway thats about it for now, i suppose the next update will probably be the Gearbox.............

Well so much for leaving Silvia alone lol, Things bug me, Rusted wheel bolts, dirty arches and the old centre caps. So all of this was addressed this morning, Also came across a badly corroded OSR Brake pipe where it meets the rubber hose so i guess it's another issue i'm going to have to address.

Still the car is looking much better for it, I had some spare wheel bolts already painted silver ;) all 5 too which meant i could get rid of those horrible locker's! I hate locking wheel bolts.

Much better i think you guys would agree! Dont know hell the heck it passed the last mot with the brake hose but hey into Merc's Thursday so depending on the out come could be a good time to get it done.

So After the above little jobs the car got another polish, along with various small stone chips touched in, Looking fresh. :)

Love the w211 interior. Just wish mine was black rather than cream. Cream is tricky to keep clean :D

I prefer light interiors but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 55 with one.

A few months ago I saw a black S211 with creamy leather (OEM) from factory on AT, looked amazing.

Yeh the cream interior does look good, I just need to get the carpets on mine cleaned though.

Ps not trying to hijack your thread Gavin :p

Yes, I remember that too, IIRC it was fairly low mileage and quite a lot of money - £17/18/19k or something. Was it discussed on here too?

Yeah it was. I remember people saying it was far too expensive. Did look stunning though.

Thankyou bud, Defiantly brought the shine back to the paint work, it was a little flat when i picked it up.

Oh Yes thats right i remember the one now think the mileage was round 55k mark, Mine has Just turned 101k

Gav, what do you use to clean up the suspension components in and around the wheel arch area. As looks really clean shiny. Can't praise your work enough the car is looking fab.

Tom

I always think you should make a 'new' car your own and with these little touches you really have (as always)

Hats off to you Gav

I snow foamed under there the sponged it all down, Ended up treating it with Megs Tyre/trim dressing of all things. Old engine oil on a rag is also good and absorbs into the plastics last for ages. Any polish or Autosol will bring the alloy part of the Suspension strut up just fine.

Thanks for the praises peeps the car has really grown on me, I'ts perfect although abit slower than Brutus its very usable which is exactly what i wanted. Further investigation it would seem it has a X-pipe fitted with resonator delete and secondary cat delete and the sound is spot on! no drumming at all at any speed, its almost stock sound at tick over but blip the throttle and it sounds throaty.

I found myself playing with the gear's just to make the engine to make some noise lol.

Did abit more cleaning on the engine bay today, also changed the Air filters as they were well passed there best.

Thanks Gavin, great stuff you don't know when to stop lol. I will have a crack at mine one day this week.

Again, cheers for the info.

Tom

Since I have had the exhaust mods I do exactly the same play with the gears. Great when in a built up area/tunnel and drop a couple gogs the noise is thunderous to say the least lol. Mine also crackles on cold start and changed down. Very happy with mine still. :D

Well seeing as the car is just sitting about waiting for thursday thought id make a start on the Heater Valve, Dam i forgot what a Pitta of a Job it was, Tbh ive got the Valve out and the new one ready togo in, But... I tired and CBA so going to finish it off tomorrow.

You're correct about a PITTA of a job, I ended up removing the master cylinder to get the new one in and located correctly.

But I did say, you do yours and I'll do mine so kept my word.

Mine didn't look as bad as yours though. ;)
20180702_152007.jpg

Now need to bleed the brakes tomorrow.

Doh..... i haven't got star so moving the cylinder wasn't a option for me, :( Looked like my hand had punched a glass door by the time i was done lol

Haha you are a Man of your word ;)
