Mercedes W114 250 Coupe - help!

A couple of questions for reference Charles-
1.name of the water pump manufacturer?

2. How do the W114/W115 / Pagoda suspension settings compare to the R107 ones?

1. No idea alas - it was on the car and packaging nowhere to be seen when I'd got there.

2. Early 107 and W114 settings almost exactly the same.

C107 (SLC) rear sub frame and gen 1 R/C 107 sub frames are exactly the same. For anyone who's not driven a W114/W115, they're a lot of fun to drive.

Went over to have the alignment and geometry done and thereafter no noise from the power steering pump, so with nothing more to do on the car at the Project Shop end, Simeon dropped her back with me.

Tony and Jill were in so came out for a gander at the car 18 months or so after they last saw her, and then snow foam bath and bed before the sun went down.

Oh, and before I forget, the vacuum locking system for the seats is working perfectly. Photo not great, but this shows the latch locked into the seat with the engine running and the doors shut.

That should be the October picture in an MB calendar.

Classy car, great build thread. Well done for seeing this through. I thoroughly enjoyed the read, almost sorry it's coming to an end.

Thanks Roadhog. I shall miss much of the project a lot, still a fair bit of programming to do, but now it all changes to optimising her for the road. That and me having some me time for a change.

Tried and failed to improve the idle much today, but noted that working outside was probably better next time, hopefully any mice at the back of the garage got enough CO to deter them pro tem. That and the coupe door is too big to open safely with Citroen SM alongside.

Time to get the idle air control valve working. Having read the manual and fiddled with the laptop with Tuner studio I think I can get there with a helper.

Visitors always welcome on nice days.

Yes Al - I have a Citroen SM where the same has been done and the transformation is total. As this car wasn't running anyway I decided to do the change as part of the restoration. Now is the time for the mapping etc.

Sweet,I plan on doing that on my 300SEL 3.5 at some point. I've managed to accumulate 3 sets of d-jet components (injectors, computers, MPS etc) for my M110 which somewhat future proofs it.

There's a fellow called MikeD that did a write up on my www.stroke8.org forum on converting a 280C carb to throttle body injection.

I guess I have a lot of reading to do :)

Success, got the Idle control valve firing on widest setting, and significantly improved the idling. Tapering the warmup and afterstart enrichments at higher temperatures remains to be done as it was remarkable how the car conked out when I made a small adjustment, but at lower temperatures it's starting. So many parameters but this is the joy of doing it all at home, I can fiddle until the setting is right.

NASA beckons Charles, they have an ignition problem with their Saturn Rocket and wonder if you could spare them a day or three.
