and if you take the tops off the injectors would this causes a problem

Coolant shouldnt come out of the injector bolt hole, the water jacket is below the bolt holes, and previously someone has probably fitted a bolt without cleaning debris from the base of the hole resulting in the thin casting between the water jacket and the hole being broken.

A good sealant on the bolt threads should solve this problem.

ok dont know if same has done this
but i put the new bolt and no water is leaking at all so i am guessing all is ok

If the you just fully tightened the 'stretch' clamp bolts without following the correct tightening procedure (an initial torque of 7nm and then 2x90 degree turns) then you have probably screwed them down too far and caused them to overstretch and burst through the water jacket below, either that, or, as my previous post....... debris in the holes, etc.
Hi Panason1c

All injectors now in after hiring a Helicoil Kit from Kevin @ Hutton Engineers I could tighten the stretch bolts correctly to(an initial torque of 7nm and then 2x90 degree turns)
so yeah thanks for the torque settings.
if I have burst the water jacket ? what dose this mean and what impact will it have on how my engine runs I'm not loosing any coolant or Diesel
although all injectors are in and air tight I still have what seems like an air lock ? because when I leave it over night it takes a long crank in the morning to start it up but after that no problem with starting
it drives normal with kick-down up to 70mph but after it has done that once it wont again until the ignition is turned off and back on again.
I thought the fuel rail was self bleeding ?

Dont worry about the water jacket, even if you broke through, as long as coolant isnt coming up past the injector bolt threads, then all is well.

The long cranking in the morning will be an air leak at the fuel pipe connections, also, check for any wetness around the hp pump, especially when the engine is cold as the hp pump is known to leak from any of the 3 the 'heads' when cold.

The kickdown problem could be a faulty 'maf'

Thanks Panason1c
Would you say to squirt soapy water on the fuel pipe connections to see if it bubbles ?
Sometimes caveman technology works !

Is this the HP Pump you mentioned

Yes.

I had the engine bay steam cleaned and can see the outlet connection of the High Pressure pump leaking it is the clear plastic pipe in the photo, can I get O-Rings for this or do I have to renew the pipe ?
I also saw the EGR valve vacuum pipe hanging off so I took a look at the valve.
It was gunked up with oil, using brake cleaner and a soft brass wire brush I cleaned the build up off I could see the valve working and after a road test I could see an immediate change and restored power. However I've not taken it up the Motoway around town its good. Im guessing the inlet manifold may need removing and steam cleaning? but I'm no longer in "LIMP BISCUIT MODE !! " I mean "LIMP HOME MODE !:bannana:
Thansk for all your help so far:o

Fitted new O-Ring to fuel line connection of the HP pump this was done when the engine was hot so I'll find out in the morning if it was successful. Also fitted a new OEM battery and four new tyres
The vehicle seems to drive as normal with the kick down now back.
I can now hear a clanging noise when I go over speed humps any ideas ?

ARB bushes? Does the sound alter the slower or faster you go over the bumps?

Have your ARB bushes ever been changed?

Maybe get down to an indie? I went to kwik fit and asked them simulate a road bump. The told me the ARB were gone. So I went home and ordered some from MB and fitted them myself. The outer ARb bushes can be a real pain if the bolt has seized in lower control arm. An air gun would be good, if you have to hand. Maybe a quick job for your indie?

The noise from my car went away.

Hi Guys,
After all this days the matter was done as this,

1.Sealnt was used and all Fuel injectors were tighten,Vehicle didnt start due to battery lost
2. ML270 lots the programme between the key and itself new key was asked to order and regramme, and it was done by Mercedez Dealer in leicester.
3.Finally still couldnt get the vehicle started with this scenario given to me by the machanic,
immobeliser shows as its passnig diesel but only a click sound can be heard, battery
was dead charged back again with the booster,
machanic saying he could start the engine by giving diesel manually but not with the ignition key,
immobeliser flashes as its giving fuel but checking the fuel injectors there no earth(current/electric).
Any idea guys am i geting fooled by the machanic or do i take the car out of the garrage my last posting was on 04/september now as for today it is 07/Nov pls reply
thank you all for valuable time
