Maybe true, but the xenon headlamps are available from Bosch who make the OEM lamps too, I understand what you're saying about the kits, I just wouldnt feel comfortable with them. Just my humble opinion.

How wouldn't you feel comfortable? 2 years warranty, and the bulbs last 2-4 years! Since I've had them in, I havent had any fused bulbs which occured very often on my C250tdi and any faulty ballasts will get replaced! Gives me and everyone peace of mind at the end of the day

So with the HID kit you've got ibrar, you dont need to make extra holes in the back of the headlight housing? In order for the ballast to connect?

only hole i need is to run a wire approx 4mm!
Thats it and its in the casing of the back light

Nope it doesnt. With regards to the LAW, xenons can be retrofitted, but only new cars with xenon must have headlamp washers and automatic levelling

ibrar, those hid`s look pretty illegal, your comparison shot shows how the light beam is going haywire on the hid`s, bet you get flashed alot. AND for the record...they are illegal.

NW, yep, took a while to source the bits, and luckily i already had the wash/wipe on the headlamps, had a lot of help identifying the ballasts from MBenzNL, which i got from german ebay in the end, and the actual headlamp units were probably the most expensive parts from the local scrappy... but he knew exactly what he was selling and charged accordingly! Went to my local MOT place to get them properly aligned (surprisingly they were spot on!) and all done!

completely stripping the car and glass-fibering it on all the ugly places! so...

20kg glass fiber resin= £22- flea bay!
22 meters of glass fiber material= £20- flea bay!
ripping all the interia out= lots of coffee and head scratching- giving it lots of angle grinder love!
