Sounds painful.

WOW! Fair play to you Chris, thats some serious time, effort, money and of course stress gone into it. Thank you for sharing it all with us, was toying with starting the mods but I know from previous, once you start theres no going back! Decided the stock 55 has enough power for me, just modding it 'cosmetically'. Will be at Acids Feb 25th, see you there if you are still about.

I also, would be interested in this issue, what's happened:eek:. Also how is the car going now Chris, (bar the subframe), hopefully good now, :thumb:

After the Pulley's had been fitted, the car had a crash whilst on test run

Oh mate!, nightmare:(, I hope its not too bad Chris, but subframe, uhm, thinking the worse, hoping it's not though, it's real bad news, I do hope it's all fixable, and you actually get to have some fun from the car that you have put so much into recently.
All the best with it.

Chris this was an unfortunate incident that we want to apologise for.

You have been fantastic and understanding throughout this, as we have said verbally and in writing we will continue to work to a satisfactory resolution as agreed in the conversation you had with paul on Saturday

It is regretable that the initial assessment of the damage and subsequent repair was not conclusive

As agreed we immediately settled your additional costs related to this incident and agreed to assess and put right the question raised over the possible sub frame damage.

Once again we cannot apologise enough to you over this incident and look forward to working with you to a satisfactory resolution.

Takes some balls to come on here and apologise so thanks for that.
The majority of damages have been fixed by Mercedes here in Germany so just the sub-frame left.
I am returning to the UK on the 18th Feb so will travel South through the Tunnel and meet up with you and Paul. we can then take the car to local MB Stealer and see what the issue is

Guys, the car is running extremely well now, the Power is off the charts, the acceleration is mind blowing and the ride is comfortable so looks like an ending is in sight

Chris

Sh*t happens - its how its dealt with afterwards is more important.
Kudos to Chris on being patient and circumspect. Eurocharged for doing the right thing.
This project is hell of a rollercoater ride.
Thanks to all for letting us all participate.

Sounds like its been a nightmare.
Glad to see its all more or less sorted and fingers crossed its back to 100% soon.

More or less thanks Lee

Just waiting on complete rear seat belt package from Mercedes Germany as deployed during impact, 2 new Wheels (Only had on for 2 days ) and the Sub-frame
Keep getting "Check coolant level" message. Had the German technicians check it out but seemed in order, message came back next day so will keep an eye on that :wallbash:

Should be all complete by end of the month :D

How's the "Beast"?

Check the oil level and make sure its not milky. If your losing coolant and there is no visable leak...worst case scenario would be head gasket!!!

Just can't imagine having to deal with what you have during this...just one disaster after another. Hopefully all good from now on though.

Mines running sweet. ...embarrsed a gtr yesterday. ..spoilt his day for sure ha ha

will check in the morning. Will pop back to German Mercedes if it looks suspect

Update:

Sub-frame is skew so car doesn't travel in a straight line
This requires new frame and associated parts to bring the car back to Mercedes manufacturer's specification
Minimum 2 days work and a quoted figure from Mercedes Benz Germany of EUR6500

When will this end
