My CLS55 Stage 3 Eurocharged

Paul's just left after dropping car off, fair play to him

Right, turns out my car didn't like the 82mm Throttle Body :dk:
No matter what tests were done, what remaps were placed, TB was always an issue
That said, stock TB back on and car is running like a dream
Jerry (Eurocharged) said there's still plenty of extra power to be had but running around 630bhp so I think I'll be quite content with that and give it a few thousand miles to see

Paul/Andy
Thank you very much for your efforts and your perseverance, you both never gave up and hopefully that will be the last of your trials and tribulations where my car is concerned.

Your help has been invaluable, thanks

Modding is a serious business and for those thinking about carrying out any form of Mods, listen to the guys on here, speak with the main players and make your decisions wisely.

It's been emotional :D

Glad everything's been sorted

From my Experience with Paul, Andy, Philip and Jerry(Eurocharged) They are all very knowledgable and I too had some problems, Very minor compared to yours and their service and effort was outstanding.

Great work guys :thumb:

I was only discussing, amongst other things, your issues with Alx this afternoon Chris and given both our own previous home works for our own cars, we were both betting it was a TB thing. This said, its seems not set in stone, a few guys have fitted the 82mm TB and run with no issue, but it is more common to have errors on this fitment, think no one has fully understood the problem with this mod, certainly not myself, its quite a frustrating mod on its own.
Given you have now have stock TB now, that will bring it back, hopefully now sound, but would have thought you would lose something, power wise, but to my mind, you have shed loads of power anyway it seems, if your happy with the car, leave it alone, enjoy the car mate. As you infer, modding cars is hard work, and I have had the odd sleepless night myself, along with many others here probably, trying to understand, why this or that has happened, or how much more money I need to throw at the car, let alone explain to wifey, that need to get x y and z done.
You have not said how the car is Chris, happy with it? hopefully yes, enjoy the moment mate.
Not to rain on your parade, unfortunately mate, once you get used to it, you always want a bit more:rolleyes:

But all the best for the time being Chris

Sorry for all the problems you have encountered Chris, Sounds a right nightmare for both parties.

Did you find out why the 82mm TB would not work? I did look into this when I had the car and found their is a merc one on the market and a modified Audi one, from what I understood, adapter plate, alignment, and porting including change of intake was required, as I was sticking with oem intake and just a change of filters I did not see the point hence why it was left standard, in fact your engine and throttle body etc is exactly the same as Simons, and if you are still achieving the correct power just sort of confirms there is little to gain unless you are chasing big numbers, like wise I have see standard injectors on a flow bench and they can really shift a serious amount of fuel, but still upgrades are offered, even at mild tunes, most cars I think that run lean or have problems are really down to dirty, clogged or failing injectors, or possibly poor fuel pressure, I am more than happy to flow test any injectors if someone has concerns or want to compare standard vs uprated for example.

Its difficult sometimes on here we all have opinions, but sometimes don't like commenting in case it either puts of the individual concerned or causes someone to lose business with information that might or might not be correct, either way fingers crossed and hope all goes well.

I haven't had much of a blast in it yet, Paul dropped it off an hour ago and I went for a quick spin to see if the power feels there, which it does albeit I didn't hit big speeds ( ;) )

Off to Germany tomorrow night so watch this space :thumb:

Billy
Not sure what the TB issues were, I'm sure Paul/Andy will comment but the car just kept rejecting it

Chris, I hope everything is ok now

Im always on hand to help :)

Chris,

Glad it all has worked out.....albeit not quite as expected.
You hit the nail on the head with your comment about Modding being a serious business. Its all around plenty research.....a bit of balls and especially getting good advice and work carried out on your car.

Good to see you have had the full backing of Eurocharged and other forum members.

Like Chris says modifying is a serious game ...

It's a learning experience to us all & it's good of you to share this with us Chris.

The discerning part is the financial cost in relation to the gain & pleasure of such huge mods. It can sometimes come to a point when you wish you could completely reverse everything & have the car back as stock .

Just being on the forum for over a month I've noticed some serious modifiers ..
Many guys like Chris, Billy , Lee ...hats off too you! You guys really have passion in the motors you drive & level of modifications you all do.

The really important part here is the companies / sponsorers doing the work,
They too are very dedicated & I can see the likes of Paul & his team @ Eurocharged , Acid @ MSL ,Rebellion have time & are duly at our disposal in rectifying/faults with mods , giving best advice & always conscious of the great expectations of forum members.
For me, this is 'value for money' -knowing customer support & service are always consistent & your problems are being fixed, not leaving you waiting at the back of the que.

We have a good team here ...Keep modding Peeps! & let's take it to the next realms!

Glad you've got it sorted at the end Chris.

I'm also having some issues with my EC pulley on my 32, waiting for Paul to sort out a pulley for me.

What sort of issues are you having Joe?

I know mate, not even had a year, it's abit frustrating tbh but it's under warranty, the bad thing is they don't make the smaller EC pulleys for the 32 anymore.... so will see what happens next.

Around 7K

seems quite a common fault from what I've heard.....

Common on the 55K but not heard much on the C32 pulleys
But now i would only do a crank pulley rather then a SC pulley

Crap mate hope you feel the love for the car again soon.
