My Search Has Come To An End....

***,
Reasons to get the Brabus;
1. It makes your car go faster and more responsive.
2. You get more mpg in comparative situations.
3. I'm pretty sure it's the only one that Mercedes endorse.

Reasons NOT to get the Brabus;
1. You're a woman. :ban: :p

LOL, or Steve is thinking instead of getting the brabus box imagine how much curry I can buy&store in the fridge...:D

sounds nice Lee!
wheres the pics? ;)

what was it like on juice on your drive home?

I'll be posting pictures as soon as I get chance to give it a good clean pal. :thumb:

The journey home, from door to door, was 198 miles and I averaged 38 mpg on the way home.
I only had the Brabus box fitted today so I'll report back on how I get on with that...

How's yours running?

I've just done 20 miles in mine crusing on A roads and a little blast out a couple of roundabouts and got home the computer says 45.5mpg.

Now for such a big car that's pretty good.

Brabus chip does seem good, the in gear / overtaking is mucho fun :)

PS Mines on 128K now !

Tell us what it is like...

Should I, shouldn't I.....Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh

Just came across this post from last year on the other forum....

Increased rail pressure, injector wear and tear, rise in insurance premium.

Having had the pleasure of the V6 CDi in a 211 (so heavier and less powerful than the E350cdi coupe) you have to be bonkers IMHO to want more performance, and I do not drive slow.

Oh, how quickly we get used to what we have and seek a little more. :p

:D

Its seems almost every W211 or S211 on the forum lately has the Brabus D6 fitted.

Maybe we should have a poll. Are there any standard cars out there (apart from ***)

:) :)

I might have been a bit hasty in praising this Brabus box, maybe it was psychological.

It was bugging me yesterday that it wasn't noticeably quicker, so I borrowed my pals S320 CDi to compare the two and it didn't feel much different to mine?

Is there a certain amount of mileage that you have to do before it kicks in?

No, it will be instant once attached.

Why not just use a stopwatch to time the acceleration before and after fitting the box...

Oops...Sorry...not as sexy as a Dyno run..

Or if you have an iphone download one of the apps like dynolicious or the BMW one, that is free.

Can I just unplug the box and the car will revert to stock?
Or will I have to uncouple all the attachments and associated gubbins?

Unplug it all I would guess.

You may throw the EML if you run it unplugged.

No, for that you need meat juices, other ingredients and plenty of time for boiling.

or did you mean, "Will my car revert back to standard?" If so, yes it will.

I'll try it tomorrow, thanks.

So just remove the plug and away I go?

I know it's not an exact science but should I just do 3 tests and take the average of both with the box and without?

On my wife's C350 CDI Kleemann KD-BOX took approx. 300 miles to adapt. It said so in the manual too. Doubt that BRABUS would be any different.

When I removed the box couple of months later to see if I'd feel any difference, it was night and day. +50 HP is a noticeable gain.

Thanks for that, I'm sure I read about another forum member having to wait for it to kick in.
I'll have a search and see what I come up with. I'll try the Brabus website aswell, thinking about it now..

Email Markus with your feelings and see what he says - he's pretty prompt in replying.

There may be a check you can put the car through.

[email protected]

I'd be very interested in his reply.

Yeah, running out of puff at 145mph is getting wearing...

Its not exactly slow or nothing, and I never feel short changed powerwise, but I want my neck to ache when I plant it...

I've seen it and had to tear myself away from the screen mate.

Problem is two fold

1. I probably could afford to buy the thing.
2. If I did not do such a big annual miliage I could afford to run one

However, I need the "shed" to get back and forth to work, I've put in for a change of job and I will find out soon if I've managed to get it. Same pay, less stressful and less complex but hours are a tad more anti social so there will be no take the train argument and I really want to be spending less on running a car, not more at the moment.

Steve, In that case then brabus is your friend or even Kleemann?

You will not be disappointed!
