My Search Has Come To An End....

It won't be long, now Audi are doing a twin turbo as well as BMW they will have no choice.

I hope it is sequential, I would be happy to loose some BHP for that.

Audi have been doing a twin turbo diesel for about 8 years now, what with the 4.0 TDi followed by the 4.2...

More linear and responsive, I'd sacrifice some bhp for that. I find thats quite annoying as below 1500rpm its not there, then it builds up and fires forward. Out of hairpin bends even in 2nd there is a momentarily lapse of power. A nice two turbo would eliminate that

There are a bit thirsty though, my old mans partner has the A8 with it and it struggles to get over 25mpg average, hardly any different to the lovely 4.2 V8 petrol.

I know the Quattro doesn't help.

The 535d I had was good, the smaller turbo up to around 1800rpm and then the bigger one takes over.
Still never quite as sharp as a nice NA petrol though.

It's finally kicked in at last!

It must have taken nigh on 400 miles before it started.

1st impressions are that it certainly gives more of a mid-range shove, but I'll report back more of my findings later...

Oh they certainly do........took the still-for-sale Q7 up to Birmingham today to see Acid.

What a machine.

Will be gutted to see it go when the right buyer comes along.

Gutted.

Amen to that Steve :thumb:
AGREED!!!

I've driven an E420 CDI in Russia and it's performance is mind blowing! Everything from the sound to the immense thrust is just biblical!

If only....

Thats one thing I would like in my D6 it goes well (very well) but sound wise ,y old ML350 was much better. It roared when I planted it.

Sure the D6 is quicker and double the MPG so its not all bad.
