Ordered the AMG plate surrounds today, which prompted me to check where the CKS (black) grill is. Ordered a month ago (& they took the cash), but no grill yet.....

Ok you have twisted my arm and since I found them it would be rude not to, I don't want it to look too boy racer though... Although that's me saying that with the quad exhaust conversion.
I spoke to Chet the owner of CKS today about a few things. They have been closed for a few weeks and have got a back log of orders for the black grills (another of my finds). They are getting a big delivery of them on Tuesday so I would expect you will see it mid to back end of next week...if not I would be on to them to chase it but they are usually very good at getting stuff out when it comes into stock. Cheers for the advice again mate, what would I do without you guys well apart from have more money in the bank!!!

As soon as I saw them I thought of you doc! I even tried to put "THE DOC" on the sample plate with the amg merc logo on and post that with the link but you know me and my limited computer skills, I got one of my office girls to post the last pictures. Anyway glad you like. I think we are evens now, I found you the grill and plates you have found me the I-drive controller and the seat covers!!!! Lol I showed the mrs but she saw straight through it by saying as if I would ever have seat covers I don't even have them in the vans...

haha true - just one question - are these road legal as in the disclaimer they no??just for show cars and not uk road use?

dont think i can with my 'routine' weekly stops lol as soon as i read that i thought hmmm it would be me that would get in the ****! nice idea though - want you think of the new bonnet badge possibility?since the black star one failed for me and kid dav

You can make & buy any plate as a show plate (ie you can stick it on your garage wall) but it's up to the car owner to make sure it meets the legal standards to permit it to be used on the vehicle. Your own private plate, correctly spaced and in the right font will be perfectly legal to use.

You can make & buy any plate as a show plate (ie you can stick it on your garage wall) but it's up to the car owner to make sure it meets the legal standards to permit it to be used on the vehicle. Your own private plate, correctly spaced and in the right font will be perfectly legal to use.

cheers - i will mull it over since i have a private dvla plate already all is good - its just even if i put the correct spacing as this company are non dvla they may not meet the standards needed - its all risk isnt it and guess just £20 - i will keep it in my favorites and see how the rest comes together as love been able to put your name on the bottom bit to!

I've got other plates with writing underneath etc & they're still legal. The only thing I'm not sure about is whether they need the plate maker's code (they all have one now) on the plate & whether a 'show plate' will carry the code.

Fantastic really like it, to be honest the nicest i have seen and as magoo has shown they do them for w204. You be the guinea pig and I'll be the sheep that follows if it works well that is.

Alright guys. This is the seller that I bought my new bonnet badge from and the fit was not very good. Not sure if it was a one off it not but I was not happy so ended up putting the original badge back on

i have given this some thought - i think what may have to be done to avoid this is buy another original merc badge (from mercesdes the one we all have on our bonnets) - use the spring base of that - (as will be a perfect fit) and place the amg badge on top of that - this will give the original fit with a different badge

Why buy another badge from MB? Can the spring base of the original badge not be used?

the one we have is now sealed onto the current badge - so you prob could detach it but would completely wreck it - if you order a new one it comes seperate from the spring base separate (the badge and spring base are seperate in the box

Doc, if yours was anything like mine then I don't think we could bring ourselves to replacing the real badge with something of that quality. Even if we managed to switch the backing plates I was still a little disappointed with the badge itself.

As it was literally just the outer ring which was black and not blue I just don't think it's worth it. Gonna keeps my eyes peeled for an alternative badge
