My2013 c coupe sports plus modifications

hi there mate - no mine remains still

Theres a plastic brace that hold the top of the grill to the bulkhead. it clips into the grill and bolts to the bulkhead, and the bulkhead cover clips to the bracket.

the original C250 bracket is too short and also not wide enough to fit to the CKS grill.

I have spoken to CKS and they say this is just how it is...

I'm assuming the bracket is different for the different models eg. C350(twin air inlet) so want to know if anyone else has had this problem??

I wonder if your dealer replaced the bracket with the correct part?..

I cant see the chinese fabricating these grills with a different fitting arrangement... it must be a replica of an OEM part! Just need to discover what bracket is needed!
I'll try and get some photos this weekend.

Finally collected my new C250 today. I love it. Thought I'd post a photo of the grill which comes with the AMG handling pack as I hadn't seen it prior to ordering.

Cheers, love it! Look forward to the feedback on the handling pack in usage please! :thumb:

Ok so had my first decent drive of the car this afternoon, as I took the long way home from work. Here are my initial thoughts on the handling.

Sports exhaust: has a sporty but restrained note. Noticeably more sporty than standard but not 'in-your-face' loud if that makes sense.

Gearbox: Eco mode is as per the AMG Sport I test drove. That is to say it is quite docile, but smooth, taking off in 2nd unless you max out the accelerator pedal, and short-shifting to save fuel. Sport Mode is a marked difference. The car feels much more eager to move away when you release the brakes and the shifts are delayed upon hard acceleration. Downshifts generally smooth. Manual mode I tried for the first time tonight on a twisty B road. During spirited driving the up shifts are almost instant, although ever so slightly slower (and understandably so) in comparison to some double-clutch systems I have previously experienced. The downshifts are entertaining with the car actively blipping the throttle as you change down, adding to the sporty feel and giving a nice aural experience. The downshifts generally happen as requested, though don't expect the box to change down if you are endangering the box and engine by requesting a change which will cause the engine to over-rev.

I should qualify my opinion by saying that this is the first auto I have owned. I have completed various advanced driving qualifications at work and was worried that I'd miss the involved feel of a manual and the satisfaction of nicely executed sustained rev changes etc. I shouldn't have worried as I still found the auto engaging in manual mode, and the active downshifts put a smile on my face.

Handling: in general I have been very impressed. The suspension is firm but the car absorbs bumps in the road with class and ease. My previous car was a 330i m-sport which crashed over the bumps by comparison. I much prefer this car. It maybe doesn't have the dynamic handling some associate with BMW but I am more than satisfied with the car and can't fault it in this respect.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for the detail, that's very helpful. Glad to hear about the box and exhaust, sounds very positive. I am sure I will appreciate the lack of crashing over the bumps too, given the Pro-drive installed shocks and springs I have now!

I know it's early days, but just one more question - how does the suspension cope in terms of road holding when pushing it along that twisty B road, does it stick nice and tightly to its line?

Thanks again - very envious!

So far so good, although I didn't push it too hard as it was pouring down and there was mud on the road (not a good mix with new tyres and an unfamiliar car lol). I've read reviews that say it can tend towards under steer. I've experienced none of that whatsoever (bit unusual to have an under steering RWD if you ask me!). The brakes are good and it didn't get twitchy even on split surfaces. I love the cheeky blip on the downshifts.

Dresho, I think it was one of your original links...
AMG Color I Drive Drive Multimedia Controller Cover For Mercedes Benz W215 W213 W211 C CLASS E Class-in Car Accessories from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com

They feel good and aren't made from a horrible plastic either which is a bonus.

Just tried it and fits fine too.

Hopefully getting the black vinyl wrapping to the front valance this week, will let you know how that goes!

Cheers

cheers i forgot i had posted two links! i used the ebay one in the end - but i may take a look at one of these as i like the chrome finish

Christmas finally here and I'm 'aloud' my single bar grille! Should be putting it on at the weekend and (hopefully) upload more pics.

Since last posting, have also done some minor 'bling' with chrome door locks + changed the centre wheel caps to black with a simple Merc Star. Cool against the diamond cut wheels IMO. Any other mods?

Is it one of the CKS grilles? Let us know how you get on, its the only thing left that I want to do. I haven't got round to it yet as the last few people trying to fit it themselves on here seemed to raise a problem that the grille is loose at the top as the bracket doesn't fit or something?

Cheers!

Yes, mine is a CKS grills. I managed to put it on today, but not 100% sure about it being secure. Can anyone else who's fitted it let me know how they 'secured it' on. There's not the same T bar fitting point to secure it at the top.
