Well...
I'm still waiting for compenasation for the trouble i have went through.
Just rang customer service again. Garage seems to be fobbing me off atm. "He is busy in a meeting" etc..
So the saga is ongoing.
At the end of the day. A full refund of the cars value is not enough, my father i think is contemplating going to get the solicitor involved.
What about the tax, diesel, insurance admin costs. Not to mention time wasted and the stress caused by this situation.
Its the principal.
MB UK is still awaiting a full explenation from the dealership i have been told.
Are you writing to Mercedes-Benz UK? I ask this because it is important to have a written record.
Once you have a contact, then is the time to develop I rapport.
I have nothing but praise for MERCEDES-Benz UK and it is in their interests to play this down.
Whilst our negotiations were ongoing, my wife received a couple of bouquets of flowers, I received two separate bottles of spirits and we still exchange Christmas Cards with the person that dealt with our claim! Why was I so spoilt?? I think it was because I never once moaned, never made demands and we always laughed and joked. The lady was impressed with this type of attitude and quite simply could not do enough to help us.
By ll means go down the legal route, that's your option, but why not let Mercedes-Benz do the talking? Why not look up all the options you would like on a specific model, and then very subtly during a light-hearted conversation, drop the hint that this might placate you?
If you have already made demands then once more, this suggestion might not work.
What was the actual mileage on your invoice?
I am once more asking because I am so very, very curious. If it were me, then I would want to know every little detail of where and how this thing got clocked, but that is not really your concern. It is me being me.
Have you a copy of the old MOT?
It is very simple to look up the old MOT and find out the mileage.
I'm amazed that the dealer never knew as they would not usually sell a high mileage vehicle to the public, plus of course that sort of mileage would have seen them paying a darn sight less for it than they would have if it had 90,000 miles on the clock.
Good luck
John
