Hi just thought I'd say hello.

I ordered a Silver saloon today with the following options/spec.

Iridium Silver
Black Leather
19” Multi spoke Alloys
Harman Kardon
6CD Changer
Black Ash Wood
DAB Radio
Heated Screen Wash

Get the car in around 8 weeks, got a great deal from Matt at Poole Mercedes.
I currently drive a 2011 S3 S-Tronic black edition

Loved the S3 but it was time to part company, the fuel consumption is disappointing given the size of the engine/output (circa 20-25mpg), I will miss the traction and the gearbox, I'm a little worried about the C63 box being a little slow, did a quick 5 minute test drive in a PP car which was awesome but didn't really have chance to play with the box!

I'm looking to get any feedback from anyone from who has driven the PP and the stock car, is there a massive difference? I loved the test drive of the PP but I'm scared the stock motor won't feel as "fruity"? Ive had an e46 M3 and assume the stock car will be the same rough pace as that?

The insurance was cheaper than the S3 too! £700ish (26, 5ncb)

Cheers

Hi and welcome,

I have had both the stock and pp cars and the pp definately feels sharper at the mid and top rpm ranges...the standard car is no slouch though..

But tbh honest a simple remap will sort out the standard car to around 520bhp so if you ever feel its not enough you know what to do.

Regards

Phil

Thanks Phill

Are the remaps extortionate? Had the S3 revo'd for £450..

Welcome to you - don't forget the photos when you've got the car :thumb:.

Ha, yes, photos with custard will be supplied :)

Hi congrats and welcome, msl performance in birmingham charge £500 for the eurocharged remap.

Ps the difference is most obvious upwards of 5k revs below that you will not really feel much of a change between a mapped and standard car.

Hi Pilotprice, congrats on your purchase. I'm new here and also waiting for my new arrival,

C63 Coupe
Tenorite Grey
Black 19's
HK
Privacy Glass
Reversing Camera
Interior Lighting Pack

This waiting game is no fun! Do you have a delivery date yet? Out of interest your insurance quote sounds very good to me, who is it with? I'm looking round at mo and had nothing near that price! (29 8 yrs ncb).

Cheers.

confused . com!

No date yet, waiting to hear back on the finance nod, but can't foresee any issues (touches wood) Paid the £2000 deposit.

I think It will be here around 14th NOV

I'll take a look at confused. A search on compare the market gave me a best quote of about £1200! Were you tempted with the limited slip diff? I chose the spec above and was taking a bit longer to decide whether to go for it or not, only to be told my spec amendable date had moved forward so it was too late to chose it even if I wanted it. Decision made for me!

Welcome :thumb: If you were worried about the fuel consumption on your S3 then I'm not sure a C63 is going to help. Mine averaged between 13 and 15mpg. Not a car to buy for economy

I guess it's down to how and, probably more importantly, where you drive.
I have done nearly 19K in my estate since new last year and am averaging 21.8 on the OBC.

Hi mate, congratulations on the new order!

Your C63 will walk an E90 M3 forget an E46.

To put it into perspective, my 2001 CLK55 which is 100hp down on a C63 leaves E46 M3's and can play tag with the e90's too (won't get past though).

You'll love it. When its no longer enough a Eurocharged remap is circa £500 and you'll see 520-530hp. :thumb:

Pilotprice I've owned m3's m5's e60 e39 etc and I gotta say although I loved em there just no comparison to the c63. When it comes to strait line speed its a beast !! Mines a 58 plate saloon with pp lsd my only gripe is its bloody bumpy with the 19's and harder suspension but to me its not the end of the world as I don't use it as an every day drive. But the one and only thing I find is so crap ( well it is on mine ) is the gearbox !! I find if your driving around in comfort mode and not in any hurry its great. The minute the red mist sets in and you wanna floor it no matter what you do, leave in auto or go on the paddles into sport, the gearbox goes "ahhhhhrrrrrrrrr whats going on !!! I find it so awkward. I tend to try n use manual mode on the paddles as much as I can and the change up when on full chat is painfull.

Anyway. Rant over. Think I had a touch of the clarkson syndrome there. Apart from the above its an awesome car.

I wish I had played with the gearbox more on the test drive, the S3 S-Tronic box is sensational, changes are instantaneous and it does what you request, every time.

Here is a video of my car after my first remap, you can see how fast the box changes (and the traction, it was torrential rain that day)
