Pic's of my new car.... S65AMG V12 Twin Turbo W221

Two S65's?

Surely you need three; one to drive, one in the wash, and one parked up ready? :p

🤣🤣

You know it doesn't take much to convince me 🤣.

I have been keeping something from you all and it has been hard for me not to say anything but soon I think I will post un update :)

Oooooh…

You can’t say something like that and then leave us hanging!

Bl00dy el, Sam, won't sleep tonight now.🙂
🤣

I can't say much more than this at the moment. I have a feeling most of you will think I've lost it 🤣🤣
Lost it years ago, Sam, join the club. 🙂

Haha 🤣🤣, it’s not going to be anything too exciting but I’m still like a little child at heart😆

If you are on here with a project thread you are already a lost cause... we all are...

🤣 You’re right!
This is why I talk about my passion here and post pics of my project because I feel like this site and M3cutters are the two places I can talk about cars without feeling judged. We all share the same passion. Just some have lost it more than others 🤣

I'm sure somewhere there is a secret forum where our wives and girlfriends council each other... :p

How Lindsey has put up with me over the years I will never know. When I told her I'd bought the CL500 she burst out laughing.

It's a running joke that our friends and family check the garage and driveway for new cars every time they visit....

Yes you are in good company here Sam.

Haha 😆 I wouldn't be surprised if there is such a place 😂

Can’t believe you’re putting lambo door hinges on the S-class  ;)

Haha 😂 I think I'd be the first person to have an S class with Lambo doors 🤭

Loving the silver

Thank you sir! You have an amazing collection of cars :)

You've bought one! My congratulations, Sam. Well deserved. I hope you enjoy it :thumb:

Hello Alex :)

Thank you sir! It's not as pretty as your S65AMG but I'm happy that I still managed to get an S65 even if it's one of my least favourite colours 😄
I hope you're well

I decided to paint the brakes and normally I play it safe and go for silver or grey but this time I decided to paint the discs silver and the calliper's yellow. They are massive brakes and a bright colour wouldn't be such a bad thing
They are not finished yet as I still have to do the covers. What a headache of a job to do!

Stripping the paint off first.

After cleaning the brakes, I used a primer. After that, I painted the calliper's white otherwise the yellow would have looked greenish and the paint shop told me they have to be painted white first. Once they were painted white, I proceeded to paint the calliper's yellow. Once they were dry, I lacquered the calliper's 😩.

I do like the yellow and I need to make some time to paint the covers [ I'm not really looking forward to doing this but it needs to be done ]

What's been the hardest part is keeping a secret from you all for this past 5 weeks but soon I will reveal the secret 😆
I need to go on a longer test drive to clear some of the silver paint that can be seen on the front disc

I will post some better pic's [ of the whole car ] once the brakes are finished

Like um! 🙂👍

I love those; everyone usually picks red calipers and I find them a little tacky. That yellow really looks incredible!!

You can’t keep teasing us!

Did anyone else notice how immaculate those wheel arches are in the photo with the wheel removed!

Your attention to detail is incredible Sam!!

So much admiration for your work and OCD'ness but imho I'm not a fan of colour, too bright. To me they 'cheapen' the car, something it is most definitely not!
(It's only my personal opinion and don't mean to cause offence )

Kind regards Matt

Haha 😄, I'm sorry it has taken more time than I thought it would but I have been so busy and things haven't exactly gone to plan. Soon it will be revealed and I hope it will be worth the wait :)

Thank you!
There's still a lot of room for improvements on the underside. I need to book two weeks off work and just concentrate on the cars, that way I can do more work as it's so hard to find time for the cars :)

Hi Matt,

Thank you! No offence taken, I appreciate your honesty :)
Once they are finished, I will see how I feel about them. I could always paint them silver and play it safe :D
