That petition is nonsense, banning cars over 10 years? I see some P - R-registered cars, still in good nick...!

Horses and carts a la the Amish?
That said, my first car was a 1957 Morris Minor 1000. A four door salloon with plenty of room for 4 adults, it would easily return 40mpg and you didn't need to be an electronics expert to fix it if it went wrong. The argument about emissions is a valid one (ie, old cars emit more per mile, but production of new cars far outweighs that)
In summary:
Next: World Domination <cue echoey laugh in the distance>
- Ban cars (except MB)
- Ban pedestrians (except pizza delivery people)
- Ban bikes (no exceptions)
:bannana:
couldnt agree more , ive got no time for old cars.
Museems or special track days.
The emissions controls arent up to the modern standards , the saftey isnt there either. In this day and age of green is good. Them bangers have got to go.
[sorry, it was either that or start ranting about bendy buses...........]
Anybody know how they do it in Japan? I have heard that they set such a tough test at three years and/or a high price that it forces cars off the road.
Good for the manufacturers - bad for Chav's.
Looking on the bright side the 10 year ban on the life span of cars could certainly help to remove the old bangers that are not road worthy...
Maybe so, surely that's the reason for what an MOT is for?
PS Are you saying my car is an 'old banger?' It's 11 this year!
