Hello,

Just rang our local garge that services the wifes A class as we were pointed out last time the discs are getting low.
He just quoted £302.59 inc Vat for Discs, pads, fluid and the cables.

Is this about right. They are drilled discs which I guess adds a bit of cost?

Think I will ring the stealer to have a laugh.

Thanks

That seems outrageously good value if it's using MB parts front and rear. Less so if just fronts, but still cheaper than the dealer like for like.

Hello,

Its for the fronts only, however they are oversized drilled amg brakes (probably not needed on the little A class) but there we go.

I'm coming round to thinking its actually good value, genuine parts (from Mercedes) but at a specialist.

Given I reckon brakes and tyres shouldn't be skimped on, will probably get it booked in.

cheers

I would imagine the discs and pads would cost close to £200 over the counter at your local dealer, and this guy will fit them and change the fluid for £300? Seems fairly good to me.

nimmat

It is probably even more reasonable than you thought because it seems those listed discounted prices now INCLUDE VAT. !!!!!!!!!!

Cheers all,

Would rather check with those that know. I have just been to Euro Car Parts and they have OEM pads and Discs for £102.03 with the VAT. They don't stoke the sensors but guesing £10 for them.

I may do it my self......

With £200 saved I can buy something for my ar :)

Another question do I have a light that come on if the brakes need changing?

Thanks

The rotors will be OE Zimmerman and the pads OE ATE.

Aftermarket workshops tend to use their common sense and order same factory spare parts for less than 1/2 the OEM cost.
