Recommend a decent socket set?

Just ordered the 150 piece set for free home delivery but nowhere in checkout page to put the voucher code. Rang the helpdesk and was told code REVIEW50K was for Saturday only and he used A13CM03 for the 10% off.

Yep same for me, but it is now £99.99 and not £79.99

The Lidl set only has 1/2" and 14" drive which is a shame as 3/8" is what I use most

Having bought a Halfords set on Friday I have decided it duplicates too many things I have already and I'll be better off adding to what I have. If anyone wants this set at cost before I return it, drop me an email asap at parts at w124 co uk

I purchased 2 Halfords 150 piece professional kits about 5 years ago, I keep one with the race car and the other in my daily driver.
The race car is a Honda but many of the after market parts are manufactured in the USA so I have the occasional need to use the other side of the tool kit.
I really can't grumble, both kits have proved to be excellent value for money and really get me out of trouble as well as many other people at the track that just don't have enough tools with them.
To date I broke I racket extension, the lock pin fell out as it was a poor design, Halfords changed it in shop for an improved version with a ball bearing instead of a pin, both kits have seen a lot of use and show no signs of wear, just make sure you look after it and keep it dry.
If the rain gets to the kit then dry it and spray with WD40 to stop the rust getting in, then again, if it breaks just get a free replacement.

Defo - Halfords it has to be..................BUT ..................only the Professional range. Avoid the rest.

£79.99 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW , never seen any previous offers as good as that...............I'm leaving now to get one before the local one runs out of stock. Bargain of the century !

I have that same Pro set and it is very very good. I just wish they would stop packaging spanners along with the sockets. I've got plenty spanners thank-you. It smacks of the kiddie joiners toolset of my childhood.
Use the space for a better selection of extensions or a powerbar or something else socket related...but not spanners.

End of rant...............:wallbash:

Voucher codes seem not to work .

Are here any that work for the 10% off ?

Cheers

I've had loads of good bargains from Halfords. I've got a Trade Card, so get even better deals.

My only aboservastion is that these toolsets are both imperial and metric. So for most people, half the toolset will never be used.

Suggest buying metric only sets unless you intend working on something old or american.

Recomend Halfords Pro range if on a budget and Teng or Facom if you are feeling flush.
