C63 AMG
Have a 2012 c63 and have a bit of a dilemma. I want to get the eurocharged map to up the power but my car does not have a LSD so i have the following options due to the fact that i live on the Isle of Wight!
1. Get the remap done remotely and then get the lsd fitted later when i can get time off work, will be a couple of months, to get to either msl or eurocharged to have the lsd fitted.
2. Get both the remap and lsd done at the same time but this requires time off work, a ferry, a hotel as the job takes a couple of days so adds about £200 to the price.
3. Do neither as i wont be taking the car to a track and therefore dont require the lsd or the remap.
So my question is do I need to get both done?
Any opinions on my situation please.
James

Do the LSD first. No point in extra power if you cant put it down.

So do I. Might be easier to call Olly (Black C55) and get him to do the work. Just up the A3 at Horndean :thumb:

Do point 1 first I've had no regrets so far. Then see how you go.

I would say Both.
The LSD will help with traction. However the Re map will give you much more entertainment factor or as I like to put it smiles per a gallon

I did both at the same time, and having the secondary cats gutted too. Amazing difference - you will not be disappointed.

The problem is, this is just the start of your modding journey - where will it end? A 700+ BHP monster like Lee? Who knows?

Do it all together, you only live once. Both mods very worthwhile!

If you talk to Paul at Eurocharged he may be able to schedule both in one day. You could try to get it done on a Saturday, just a day trip to Watford.

Not possible. They like to leave the diff seal to 'cure' overnight before filling with oil the next day.

LSD first.... then remap and decat to gain extra smiles per gallon!
Thats what i will be doing anyways...

You don't need to do anything
It's Horses for courses and to be honest, unless you're going to use the extra power what's the point :dk:

True, most of us tune our cars so we can take them to the track now and again and act stupid or have fun, if you are just using it on the street just enjoy and don't put yourself through the pain and suffering.

Maybe gut the secondaries then it will have the ambiance of an extra 100BHP.

Ignore that last guy he is an idiot. Do for the trifecta, LSD, Tune and Exhaust. You will love it and be on that slippery slope.

I was calling myself an idiot. Read again. Sorry if someone thought I was referring to them, it was a third person or devil and a saint combination.

Many thanks for all the input. It looks like a real 50:50 split with some saying dont bother as i wont be going to the track which i can understand. Then others saying do both and enjoy the experience. Can anyone confirm that the remap makes the car louder? I think as money isnt a worry, i will go for both options, ideally together, but if thats not viable then remote remap so i dont have to worry about the dealerships reflashing the ECU during a service / warrantee issues as i plan to continue the mb service history and LSD if i find that i cant make the most of the power increase. Kind regards. James.

You will get a little more sound due to the increase in power but really you should do the gutting of the cats if you want more sound.

Like the idea of gutting the cats but worried about mot failure if noticed. I have done some searches to try and hear a comparison with a standard car and one with gutted cats but most modded cars seem to have headers and exhaust upgrades as well. Anyone know of a link to a video that gives a good sound representation. I had promised myself that coming from a modded e46 m3 i would NOT touch the c63 but that promise has only lasted 2 months!!!
