anybody give me more details on what a Remap could achieve on my car as above?

ive had a couple of companies quote completely different things

one saying its £325 will improve 35bhp and 65Nm torque

Another company saying it will be £450 an 55bhp and 100Nm torque also improved gear shifting speed?

my strong point isn't remapping of cars believe it or not :-)

are there different ways of ding it so both these companies are being truthful or is one pulling my plonker?

any reply appreciated thanks

Rozzy

Different companies will give different result, make sure it is not just a generic map they upload to the car, bet to get the car live mapped by someone with a Dyno machine so fuelling can be adjusted correctly and they can give you an exact power and torque output reading

As Mickey said, get it on the rollers it's about the only gen way to see what's getting done, or if there's someone reputable here that does it cheaper, go with them. Mapping's a black art, a lot of damage can be done if they don't know they're doing doing, good luck

I had mine done by celtic tuning in Cornwall and I am very happy with the results

Thanks for your replys can anybody confirm it can actually improve gear shifting?

I'm in Blackpool so any companies you can recommend north west way would be great thanks men

wont actually change gear box settings, just means you don't have to press the accelerator as far to get the same performance so is less likely to change down a gear, you can however get a gearbox remap but would avoid as it is not necessary

I think remapping a 250 could lead to a world of pain with lumpy performance, smoke and limp home mode.

The 250 is already mapped to inject more fuel and there have been reports of poor power delivery after mapping, with sudden mid range power drop off as the ECU cuts fueling back.
