Shafted

I'd be interested to know which dealer too.

I'll give them the opportunity to put things right first, however will gladly name and shame very soon if my issues are not sorted out. Its my first experience with this particular outlet, so in their interest to do so really.

Don't hold your breath but good luck in getting things sorted first time round.

Which Midlands Dealer ?

I am about to 'appoint my first dealer' for servicing my CLK 500. Got a good initial price from Mercedes Direct at Balsall Common for £220, but didnt realise that it was extra £440 for plugs and filters.....!!! and £150 for brake pads fitted.......£810+vat
Perhaps im a bit nieve but me thinks £ 220 should include filters.
The last thing i need now is for them to be the dealers you are talking about being dodgy.....! Please let me know if these are the same people...cheers RtG

If it's not too late shop around. MB Direct are part of MB Retail - as are MB Birmingham, Tamworth, etc. Try calling other local dealers and don't be afraid to haggle.

The base service isn't too bad if that includes oil and VAT.

Also you can save a fair chunk if you supply your own oil - £43.00 for 8 litres from Costco near Star City. I was there stocking up last night.

For comparison, take a look at a recent post of mine: http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/888778-post40.html

The "MBUK owned" reference is MB Retail in Birmingham.

I'm ex A & C and it used to amuse me when dealers would basically talk boll**** thinking you wouldn't notice.

Thats quite a few threads re-ignited after 2/3 years recently

Very strange,

Answer is easy... make sure you run a car more than 3 years old and use an Indy for your work..
