Not everyone sees their car as a functional piece of equipment and I think that it's perfectly reasonable for people to want to mod their cars in purely cosmetic ways. It's just a question of how they do it.
I'll admit that I haven't seen a car/SUV with spinners in the metal that I thought looked good; but I do think that they can exist.
Variety is the spice of life (and I like hot curries).
