Hello
Please could I ask is the Tiptronic similar to Audi etc? Slide over and click forward and back to change gears? Does the car get excessive wind noise with the roof up? Please could you tell of any problems you may of had? Do they have bi xenon lights? Is the cruise control adaptive like the newer models?

The car is 2003 320 Cab

Thanks
Ian

I had a 2004 CLK Vert and in answer to your questions:

I think the box is similar to Audis as you could change the gears manually by tapping the lever accordingly.

No wind noise at normal speeds however I did 140MPH on the Autobahn last year and it got a bit louder at these speeds.

I had a few niggles with the car, rattles and loose trim mainly. Biggest job was the replacement of the roll over bars and rear screen to cure a long standing rattle. It didn't work. Not what you would expect from a £40k car and in the end I got fed up and sold it.

Xenons were not standard eqpt.

I know it had cruise but I didn't use it that often so not sure if it was adaptive or not.

Good luck

When you say 2003 CLK cab, I presume you mean the current W209 shape rather than a W208?

Anyway with both when in D, you tap the lever to the left to drop a gear, and once in a lower gear, tap it to the right to change up as and when needed. Or tap to the right and hold to revert to D settings. Much better than the Audi system.

Hood noise (on the W209) is very low for a soft-top. I forget how many layers of fabric there are, but they certainly make a difference. Much better than an old Pug 306 cab we had a few years ago (as you should expect).

We've only had our CLK since July, bought second-hand with a high mileage (73,000). When we bought it I knew the off-side windows needed realignment but our local dealer doesn't seem to be able to do it, and I haven't found a decent bodyshop who has talked sense - most see a Merc and then the ££££s just flow.

Xenons were an option.

Not sure what you mean by adaptive cruise control, but the cruise on our W209 CLK is the same as on my old W203 C-class and current W211 E-class.
