Twin 12" sub install - E300TD W210

Yep, Phase error can be very nasty sounding...if you don't seal those holes well.

Looking at the T/S parameters, these subs should work well in free air despite not being designed specifically for this use.

This is how i sealed mine http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/electronics/69071-clk-w209-stereo-upgrade.html Just still getting some nasty flexing problems with low bass notes as the shelf still isn't rigid enough...

Have you had any problems with the rear shelf flexing?

I don't think so. What am I looking for? :o

Are your subs free air or conventional box subs as am wondering what kind of a bass note you are hitting - punchy or low and deep?

Thanks.
They can be free air used, even though they did come out of the FLI speaker box.
They do sound good to me bearing in mind the whole lot cost about £75 :).
The bass does though decrease at the front of the car, much louder when sat in the rear seats but I can't drive from there :(.

You need to fill all the holes in the shelf to get an airtight seal between the cabin & the boot. Once you've done that you'll be amazed how much more bass there is

Yup there are a few still to do, keep forgetting.
