w203 and fuel economy (pleased!)

c200 kompressor, my best was 42 mpg. and with stardiag you are to able to make corrections on the computer if it's not accurate

Hi I also have just bought an 07 c220 cdi estate , and on the test drive noticed the temp never got above about 50 degrees. After buying it the economy seemed to be very low about 30 to 35 . Took it back to dealer as had a 2 month warranty and after looking at other threads this cool runninng issue is quite commonon these models . Only needs the thermostat changing. This has now been done and what a difference, temp gets up to correct 85 to 90 now-- heater works! but fuel econony has changed to 40/45 on shortish runs and on the way home from the garage over about 8 miles averaged 52.( driving gently though to see what it would acheive)-- Apparently when its running too cool with thermostat jammed open/opening too early the ECU tries to over fuel the car to warm it it which it cannot acheive . The post above from ROBBRUCE is your car running at correct temp .?
