Thats not the comand screen is it?

Yes it is , it is the Comand NTG2.5

And I do not think this is from a Nissan !!!

The cameras not going to be made by Nissan is it?

I was actually posting the link for Renault12ts as a possible answer to the question to you:D

Its sort of common practice on here and most other forums to post and say i have done this mod and this is how i have done it and these are the parts used so other people can copy your mod/idea.

Disregarding the above i think its looks the mutts nutts!

This is an awesome install mate.

Comand has been coded to switch to video when I select reverse gear.

I'm considering to put this into production if I have a lot of interested people for it.

I will keep you posted for the price SAP.

The camera can be available with or without the parking guide lines

The cameras are widely available with or without guides, I had one on my previous car.

What I have not seen before is a aftermarket sensor kit that can superimpose the distance from the obstacle on the display. More info on this would be good. I assume this is a seperate sensor and not part of the camera? Does the composite video from the camera go into the sensor unit and then both go to the comand unit by a single compsite cable?

Thanks.

Just found the above.

You can code comand to display the distance guides on the screen. I have it on my A class (just havnt hooked up the camera yet!)

We can do yours for you ready for a camera when we SCN code the car.

Thanks Alfie. Be interesting to see what you do. Do you plan to mount an in the bumper type camera (like a parking sensor) or something similar to this in the boot handle or number plate light area?

As I found in my previous car the guidelines are not usefull for gauging the distance to the object behind you. If you have sensors as well it is fine. Just like on the image posted above the sensors are telling you to stop the distance is 0 but the guide lines show 3.0m. Obviously this is becuase the lines are fixed and the accuracy will depend on the height the camera is installed.

Edit: 881-4 - Parking Sensor Online - Parking sensors, reversing cameras,

Just found the above.
you are right npuk , its a seperate interface with sensors with a single composite out.I will let you have the link later when I find it.

Richard mentioned that to me one day But I whent through DAS and I could not find any option how to activate the grid.
Maybe the option is available if the MB camera module is detected.

Its in there because mine was coded without the camera or any hardware for it being in the car.

Will have a hunt around when I get some time.

Do you have to select video on the comand unit to get the image or has your comand unit been coded to switch to video input when reverse is selected?

Nice mod by the way. Can your friend get any more of those cameras and at what cost?

The bracket will only be of use to those with a W203. Is this a CMOS camera or CCD? From the pictures I take it you didnt try any of the cameras with IR nightvision LEDs?

No , du to the compact size of the camera, and I do not think a better result as this can be achieved with IR.
I will be posting the specs SAP
