W203 Headlight & Front Fog Light Upgrade Advise Needed

Bro,

I plan to upgrade my OEM "non-see through" head light & fog light this weekend, to OEM "see-through crystal" headlight & fog light.

But, i was told that, i cant dismantle the headlights and fog light myself, coz it will tribe the electronics and cause the engine unable to start.

Is that true? Can i DIY instead of asking for the MB service centre to do so?

You can change the foglight lenses but not the headlight ones. You'll need the complete clear headlights.
There'll be no probs with the electrics.

You have to change the whole unit and not just the glass. Cheapest way to do this is find a pair from a breaker - if you can.
I have been told they are about £800 a pair new from MB.

Yes, i have the complete brand new OEM Crystal head light units + brand new crystal fog light with me now. Both are specially ordered from Benz US (btw, i bought it brand new with box at USD480 per pair, shipped). Only problem is that, it is LHD type.

I plan to change the whole unit. I am just afraid from what i was told that the it will kill the electrical car mechanism and cause the engine fail to start thereafter (it must be retuned setting by Service cente).

I know Bi-xenon needs to retune it, but i have seen many articles claimed that, all crystal OEM head light and fog lights are Plug & Play.
