w203 memory seats blown fuse problem

After I got back the car from the dealership the driver seat controls did not work at all. I found out that this was due to a blown fuse 27.

I have replaced the fuse and can adjust the seat properly, however:

When I press memory and all motors are moving at the same time the fuse 27 (30amp) blows straight away.

This was not happening before. Any clues what might be the problem?

check the rails on which the seat is mounted .. if there is something in the way (say a £1 coin) it will cause the motor to overload and blow the fuse. the same thing happened to me.

Silicon spray on the hinged joints of the scissor arms.

Replacement harness wiring inside the seat.

Has been done by me to several cars and the results are very reliable. A common problem with used parts.

don't move all the motors at once. That should fix it.

sunman,i cannot believe that you said this, i thought you are a perfectionist
this is a compromise not a fix.

also this "fix" renders the memory function uselless since when you press the buttons 1or2or3 to restore a memory position all motors move at the same time.

So far I didn't hear a better idea from you.

It has been known that the wire harness gets trapped in the seat rails and damages it, by removing the squab, often just 2 screw along the front edge.
If you cant see how to get the squab off, give me the first 6 numbers of your VIN and I will look it up for you.
