W204 Comand online intermittent gps

Hi All.
I'm new here. 1st post on the forum and only three days into MB ownership, I already have a question.

On thursday I bought a 2011 C220 estate 125 edition. I have the comand online system

I used the sat nav to get me home. Worked a treat. But all weekend the satnav hasn't been picking up any satellites until tonight when I have 10 satellites picked up.

Having a bit of a search around on the forums I think my GPS antenna may be on it's way out.

If I go for the roof mount version does anyone know the cable routing? The roof mount antenna looks like it has a fairly lengthy lead with it.

Replacement antenna is normally fitted above the cluster or under the parcel shelf, depending on where the Nav unit located. Replacing the roof mount is time consuming and expensive.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. As I'm a few days on now it does seem sometimes I have 10 satellites locked. Other times I have 0. I picked up a retrofit MB antenna. I'm going to fit it this weekend and hopefully that will be the end of that.
